This film is a must see. A tear-jerker?.. well maybe, but Tom Hanks performance is, as usual, outstanding. He does not tell his employers, but when they find out they fire him and make out that he is incompetent at his job. He subsequently takes them to Court even though they are a powerful law firm. This film stars Tom Hanks in his first serious role. He was previously known for his comedy movies, Big, Splash etc, so it was a surprise to see him in something this serious. He plays a man fired from his job for having HIV. This film had a profound effect on me and that in my opinion is usually the indication of a good film. As a result of watching this film I began to question all my own predjudices and the way i felt about certain things.
