Advantages: Funny, very funny indeed, and very limited swearing Disadvantages: Knicker-wettingly funny! No extras on the DVD.
...the Bolton Albert Halls is Peter Kay at his knicker-wettingly funny best. The DVD opens with a sequence showing Peter trying to get to the venue in question in time for curtain-up. Humour ensues, with the taxi driver (who is a nutter) stopping to pick up two girls who, it turns out, are on their way to see Peter Kay, and are worrying about being late until it dawns on them that the show can't start until their fellow passenger gets there...
From ... ...DVD content list - it's Peter Kay's face appearing as Bully used to, with the Bullseye board in the background. If you leave it on this screen for any length of time, however, the theme music from Bullseye will probably drive you potty.
One gripe I'd have about this DVD is its complete lack of extras. The opening and closing sequences make an amusing setting for the live performance, but don't really warrant the title of extra, so all you get is ...

...again. And it works with Peter Kay, because although I never usually want to see or read anything twice, I’ve watched this four times and I’ve only had it for a week. Kay is rumoured to be taking a break from stand-up for a few years, which makes me very glad I have this DVD.
Peter Kay is from Bolton, and if you still aren’t sure which one he is, he did the beer advert where he wanted to pack his mum off into a home. You might also have seen him ... ...itself isn’t exciting - just Peter on stage, with some chairs, and some balloons tied to tins of paint. There are absolutely no extras on the DVD which is disappointing, not even any hidden ones, unless I’m very much mistaken . The graphics are better than average though – they are done in the style of ITV’s Bullseye (which also gets a mention as part of his stand-up.)
Don’t expect to watch this and then leave it in the DVD case. You’ll be quoting ...

Peter Kay was born on 2. July 1973 in Bolton , Greater Manchester. He has a wife Susan and baby son, Michael.
You may have seen Peter before in the John Smiths bitter adverts or making an appearance in Coronation Street. In 2000 he won "Best New TV Comedy" at the British comedy awards for his series " That Peter Kay ... ...Before hitting the"big time" Peter experienced a series of dead end jobs including toilet roll packer, cash and carry sales and petrol pump attendant. He uses these experiences in the Stand Up shows with his sharp, observational humour. He is loved by Southerners and Northerners alike for his comic portrayals of life in lower middle class Bolton. I’d never heard of Peter Kay until I saw him on Parkinson one Saturday night and found myself rolling around the furniture with tears rolling down my face, and my cheeks hurting from laughing so much, so the next day I went out and brought this DVD for £15.99 from Woolworths, you can buy it on video, but I prefer DVD because you get extras, however, I was disappointed with this when I got home because it has NO extras, if I had known I could ... ...Peter Kay has also starred and written the TV series Phoenix Nights, which I have to admit I have never seen, but it does come highly recommended by my brother as well as other ciao members. Peter Kay also stars in the John Smith adverts, and I still find the running bomb highly amusing. For this DVD, Peter returns back home to Bolton to play in front of a packed Bolton Albert Hall as part of his “Mum wants a bungalow tour“. In the audience ...

...a big fan of Mr. Peter Kay, on this DVD he is simply sublime. This is what he does best..Stand-Up comedy. The venue Bolton's Albert Hall.
The initial Taxi scene.. was the only weakness. It would of been a lot worse without Peter's quick wit in the back of the cab. Naturally, the taxi was late picking him up and drove him to the Albert Hall. Though running late Peter Kay's did not lose an audience member as the Albert Hall was packed full of 'J' ... ...three occasions. The only slight sadness is that their are no hidden back stage clips that gives you a 'fly on a wall' feel to it, which draws the viewer in to the workings more.
Ideal for all. A classic remedy, a must for all Peter Kay fanatics. Enjoy. ...

Advantages: It makes you laugh a lot Disadvantages: none
I first saw Peter Kay on Jonathan Ross. One bit that amused me was that he was in the same green room as a pretentious pop-star who had brought ‘imaginary’ Japanese people with her who just posed. Peter Kay pulled some great ‘they’re nuts!’ faces and his rapid wit contrasted delightfully with their posturing silence.
This DVD was an opportunity to see the effect he had on a live audience. Despite the introduction and ending in which he did a rather ... ...a VD player.
Although Peter Kay delivers the odd joke, this is quite rare, and his main thrust comes in how he makes fun of people getting drunk and dancing at weddings. His little podgy body and huge smile combine irresistibly to comic effect when he demonstrates how some people walk onto the dance floor beginning the dance as they approach, and how some try to resist dancing at all only to burst into a John Travolta at the last moment.
His Uncle ...

...up comedy performed by comedian Peter Kay (voted one of the top 10 comedians by Saturday magazine a while back). He is of Phoenix Nights fame, and has another DVD called "Peter Kay: Live at the Top of the Tower" in Blackpool, which is also very funny. The DVD starts with Peter Kay catching a taxi driven by a "Mr.B". Derogetory yet funny comments during this drive include "Whats the B for, bullsh1t?" Mr.B picks up 2 girls randomly, who turn out to ... ...outstanding deep voice to welcome peter kay, and runs on stage at his home venue to do his funniest show so far!
Apart from just looking at Peter Kay the whole time, the camera frequently turns to the audience, and noticeable are various cast members from well-known soap Coronation Street, and his Mum and Nan. Sometimes the Nan looks less than pleased as Peter emphasises her stupidness with comments like "She one time was stood in the kitchen silently, ...

...and the John Smith adverts, Peter Kay is slowly becoming a household name. This latest DVD is taken from his latest ‘Mum Wants a Bungalow Tour’ and was filmed live in his hometown of Bolton at the Royal Albert Hall. The tour itself lasted nine months, taking in over 300,000 people and still there were many like myself who couldn’t get tickets one of the hundred and eighty performances.
The actual DVD starts off slowly with a scene which involves ... ...him and his microphone.
Peter Kay is a genius in his own right but rather than crack off the normal joke after joke he uses observations from everyday life. Not only are these extremely funny but also it is so easily to relate to them. If you watch this with friends then you’ll be continually nodding and pointing in agreement with him.
Not only does the content relate to several generations but I’d feel comfortable watching this with anyone from ...

...that any extra scenes from Peter Kay would have been hilarious.
Peters main style consists of making jokes about the everyday things that we do.
For example the 'Walking to the Dance Floor Dance',which im afraid the majority of us have probably done, and being at Weddings and family occasions, where a whole host of strange relatives come out of the woodwork!
Kay starts the DVD off,by getting a Taxi with Boltons famous Taxi Driver:Mr Bee.
Mr Bee ... ...about missing the show.
Then Peter says something funny,if I remember correctly, like:'How can you miss the show when your sharing a Taxi with the comedian your off to see?!'
These women are achully from Coronation street,in the name of Barmaids,Gina and Shelley.
Kays jokes keep coming thick and fast and guarantee a laugh everytime.
He not only does jokes, but incorporates singing songs that we all recognise, but by changing the words,he also demonstrates ...

Advantages: it is possably THE funniest thing that i have ever seen! Disadvantages: if your not a northerner, you may not get some of the jokes
...I can think of for Peter is that he only seems to have one voice for when he does his impressions. All of which are of Jim Bowen from 'Bullseye'! It’s a very good impression mind you, but after a while, it starts to get a bit repetitive! For such a popular comedian, the lack of swearing, or crudeness, in his act is quite unusual. If you were to compare him to another comedian who has an impact like he does in this DVD, it would have to be the legend ... ...full of rude jokes, and Peter who just uses funny things. Im not saying that he is totally clean, but its not like every other word is f*ck or related to any aspect of sex. If you do acquire this, watch out for the look on his gran's face when he does either of these things, it's just priceless! She is trying to look shocked, but is so blatantly wetting herself inside!
All in all, this is a very good comedy performance by one of my favorite comedians. ...

Advantages: The funniest comedian you ever saw Disadvantages: No extras on DVD
Peter Kay is, without a doubt the funniest and most entertaining stand up comedian I have seen in a long time. He is laugh-out-loud funny with his unique perspective on everyday life that we can all relate to our own lives past and present. We’ve all had a Mum that bought “Rola Cola” years ago, a dad that cannot comprehend cheesecake, every family has an Uncle Knobhead and we all have a relative that doesn’t talk when the video is recording!!!! If ... ...What I especially like about Peter Kay is that he can reflect upon so many comic situations that we all do but just do not think about and he manages to do this without having to resort to constant foul language. I am no prude but I have seen the likes of Bernard Manning and Chubby Brown and they only seem to find humour by shock value (i.e. the constant use of one certain word) and by being offensive. Peter’s language is not whiter than white but ...

This stand up show of Peter Kay's has got to be one of the funniest things that I have seen ever, it is absoulety brilliant I have never laughed so much in my life.
Some of the jokes Peter tells are so funny, you will be in stitches on the sofa when you watch this.

But after watching this I liked ... ...one, where Peter is going on about an old video machine when he was young and he got a porn video stuck in the machine, I have never laughed so much.
There is nothing that I can say bad about this film at all, it is definetly worth a watch. ...

...of you that dont know Peter Kay, he is the star of Channel four comedy 'Pheonix Nights', and a well known stand up. He has also recently had a cameo in Corrie.
I have never liked 'Pheonix Nights' but I heard that Peter Kay had a fantastic reputation as a stand up comedian. Buying this Video showed me why. Peter Kay has his home town of Bolton in stitches, and the chemistry between this man was always evident. One thing I learnt about him was the ... ...the subject of many of Peter Kays jokes and the poor souls are the source of much of the audiences laughter, I bet they had wished they had stayed at home!! It would be a mistake for any Stand up fan not to buy this video and I recommend that you give it a go. ...

Peter Kay in my opinion must be the funniest comedian in Britain if not the whole world. I can't remember the first time I ever saw him, but know that every time I have I have laughed my head off.
