Advantages: Good, well-made series Disadvantages: Quite dear for a DVD nowadays
...together with friends to watch Northern Exposure on telly in the '90s? No? If not, then you can fill this gap in your life by getting the DVD, available only from HMV at the rather costly price of £24. (I got it as a gift, but sneaked a look at the receipt!) It's a comedy set in the small Alaskan town of Cicely and follows the characters - one and all, rather eccentric - in their lives. The music is great - the soundtrack alone is worth the money ... ...I have to confess that I'm a bit biased). The cast includes a number of Native Americans, and several episodes feature issues relevant to their way of life. The main man, Doctor Fleischman, is a New York doctor severely out of his depth, having rather unwisely committed himself to four years in the community in exchange for financing his medical education. ...got to watch the series Northern Exposure on television now is your chance to buy a piece of television history. The surreal but funny world of Cicely is available to buy on DVD and video. The down side is that only series one is available but hopefully if enough people buy it they might consider releasing the rest of the series.
Northern Exposure ran from 1990-1995 it stars John Corbett (of Sex in the city), Rob Morrow, Barry Corbin and Janine ... ...of the many wonders of Northern Exposure. The acting is brilliant, especially Rob Morrow who plays Dr. Fleischman. He is totally neurotic and thinks he is above everyone else until he is brought down a peg or two.
Watching Northern Exposure always cheers us up. It's great to snuggle up on the sofa with a bottle of wine and the people of Cicely.
