Advantages: Good action thriller Disadvantages: None
In the past I have found Coen Brothers films a bit hit ad miss, some are great while others just fail to hit the spot, I was disappointed with The Big Lebowski but loved Oh Brother Where Art Thou? mind you I imagine many people would have the opposite view.
Given the hype surrounding this film I was a bit worried that this one would not live up to expectations but in reality this is one that goes in the tick box as an entertaining film that I would ... ...Tommy Lee Jones ... Sheriff Ed Tom Bell Javier Bardem ... Anton Chigurh Josh Brolin ... Llewelyn Moss Woody Harrelson ... Carson Wells Kelly Macdonald ... Carla Jean Moss Garret Dillahunt ... Deputy Wendell Tess Harper ... Loretta Bell Barry Corbin ... Ellis Llewelyn is a hunter who stumbles across a drug deal which has ended in lots of dead men and $2 million in cash lying around, he grabs up the money and takes it back to his trailer which he shares ...

Advantages: Good plot, some really fantastic characters, intriguing Disadvantages: tailed off towards the end
...some trundly old cowboy film, no matter whether the Coen brothers made it or not. We are big Coen fans in our house, but I just didn't see the appeal. Anyway, hubby rented it off LoveFilm, so I thought last night we'd give it a go.
Starring Tommy Lee Jones, Josh Brolin and Javier Bardemm. I didn't watch the first 3 minutes, and then realised that, actually I may have to concentrate on the film. After a gone wrong drugs deal, Anton Chigurh (Javier ... ...a total psychopath there was no air of frenzy about him, he was very calculating which I think made him all the more sinister. The role was brilliantly played. The method which Anton uses to kill his victims is unusual, and vaguely referred to by TLJ later on in the film, so you do find out what this unusual device is...
Tommy Lee Jones didn't seem to put in that much of an appearence to be honest and I thought his performace was somewhat lacklustre ...

Advantages: Well produced and good cast Disadvantages: slow, bad ending
I know everyone before this film was raving on about it, so I was expecting quiet a lot. Film itself I found was very well produced, had a interesting cast and nice scenes. All the acting was up to standard, but for me the biggest let down was the story line. I just didn't get it. It throws you straight in, but I found the story just too slow for me. The ending was the biggest biggest let down, after forcing myself to carry on watching it, as I was ... ...I don't know if I just didn't get it, or if its just a blokes film. But I really didn't like it, felt like shouting at it afterwards!! But on the other hand, I watched it with 2 guys and they both loved it! Think this film is hit and miss. I wouldn't bother to buy it unless you know you want it. ...

Advantages: Bardem's performance, great script and direction Disadvantages: Plot twists may disappoint those looking for a conventional thriller
A drug deal goes wrong in middle Texas and Llewelyn Moss (Josh Brolin) stumbles across the scene and finds 2 million US dollars that he decides to take. As you can imagine, 2 million dollars is not something that won't be missed and as such, Llewelyn becomes a hunted man and gets embroiled in a cat and mouse chase with a hitman (javier Bardem) from who he is constantly on the run. From Joel and Ethan Coen and from the pen of Cormac McCarthy, this ... ...deal of suspense and quirky characters none more so than the chillingly terrifying Bardem who must be one of the most enigmatic killers in recent cinema. Brolin is excellent as the Redneck chancer and plays understatedly throughout. There are also 2 wonderful turns by Tommy Lee Jones as the disillusioned sheriff and Woody Harrelson as the bounty hunter helping Llewelyn in exchange for money. Jones is as crumpled and grumpy as always but is perfectly ...

...performance. The entire film has no music which gives it a realistic, dark undertone. The film portrays Javiers terrifying character through subtle but extremely effective ways more impacting than blatant actions. For example one scene where he kills someone the death is not shown, instead you see him walk outside and check his shoes for blood. This may sound strange but for me this was one of the best moements in the film, look out for it.
The ...
