...manual. On his first night out of boredom he messes about a bit and then falls asleep, but when he wakes up he discovers that the T-Rex skeleton has came alive. Frantically he calls one of the previous nightguards (Cecil) who simply tells him to read the instruction manual, it says, "Throw the bone." Soon after he meets the Capuchin monkey, Dexter, who pinches his keys and rips the instruction manual to shreds which isn't very sufficient for Larry. ...

Ben Stiller makes this film hard to watch, I find him unfunny at the best of times and he's close to his worst here. Stiller plays a deadbeat dad who gets a job as a night-watchman at a Museum where things come alive at night. And once you've seen that happen once, you've seen the whole film. Honestly. Night at the Museum is one of those films where you switch off the mobile phone, lock the door and settle down, because once you start watching this film, you'll be hooked by the storyline! It is about Larry (Ben Stiller) who takes a steady jod as a night watchman in the Natural History Museum to prove to his Ex that he can take care of their 10 year old son. All is going well until the doors are locked and the sun goes down...everything comes alive! ...
...the display cabinets take over and run riot! This is the beauty of this film, they obviously had a great time writing this film because anything can and will happen. A really brilliant family movie which is fast paced from start to finish and very lightheartedly funny. Some reviews which I've read, sadly rate this movie one where Ben Stiller is just trying to pump out his sense of humour and roping some talent in to make some bucks. And also. that Ricky Chavais' part is just a total waste of space. However, many of us do not agree here. Rickys part is meant to be straight and one where he is trying to b sarcastically ...
...(and the oldies too) have watched it several times and have still managed to find the action and humour funny and laugh heartily. So surely this is what Ben Stiller expected this film to do. Night at the museum is such a simple idea which works really well. A museum which comes to life and a night guard (Ben Stiller) has to cope with these problems and the results are hilarious. This was a nice suprise this film. Ben stiller who palys one of the lead parts is looking for a job, because he lost his last one, and he sees that there is a job at the museum.
