...talking about Lucio Fulci's The New York Ripper, one of the original "video nasties" and although it still has been cut by 34 seconds the fact that this DVD is widely available on UK shelves is a breath of fresh air. Italian New York Ripper (Lo squartatore di New York, 1982 ) is Jack the Ripper movie by the name only: trashy-looking, clumsy and sleazily gory "thriller" about serial killer who speaks like Donald Duck while cutting up immoral women (why only women?) of modern-day New York . That´s basically the plot, despite four writers: Gianfranco Clerici, Vincenzo Mannino, Dardano Sacchetti and director Lucio Fulci, cult fave who specialized in this kind of garbage.
