National Treasure on Location - This is a rather short behind the scenes feature which mixes interviews with footage. Annoyingly they seem to rush through everything never really going into any major amounts of detail as to how they achieved things in the film. Better than a promotional feature but would have been even better if it had been longer and less rushed.
Opening Scene Animatic - This is a computer animation of ... ...with an introduction from the director as well as an optional audio commentary which helps to explain what they were trying to achieve.
Alternate Ending - Although enjoyable I can understand why they dumped this ending in favour of the one in the film. This again comes with an introduction and commentary from the director where he emphasises that they didn't want the ending to be a set up for a sequel, which is quite funny as a sequel is now in ...

So begins a breathless adventure across, through (and occasionally under) several major monuments from American history as Ben and co race to find America's national treasure before being caught or beaten to their goal.
The idea of writing a plot around the most familiar points in American history is a clever and interesting one, and is one of the film's greatest strengths. The wild theories at the heart ...

National Treasure : The greatest adventure history has ever revealed. From the makers of Pirates of the Caribbean, Walt Disney.
What better way to spend a Saturday afternoon before you have to trawl your way into work, than writing a review for Ciao. So who will get the Declaration, and will there be a map? Will there even be a treasure after all these years of hunting? The film is defiantly one to watch, in my opinion. You always wonder, will there be a treasure in the end? The story moves along fairly swiftly, not too fast for younger viewers, and has plenty of details about history for the school kids to learn ...

...not I would actually enjoy National Treasure mind you, as I had already read a fair number of poor reviews both online and in the national media totally slating the movie. I needn’t have worried. Ben Gates is the latest in a long line of treasure hunters following clues to get their hands on a bounty of legendary proportions squirreled away by the Founding Fathers. The latest clue is on the back of the Declaration of Independence, so he must get his hands on it before ally-turned-enemy Ian Howe.

So he seems a strange choice to helm a big-budget action movie, especially after robbing scientist-turned-wild-man flick “Instinct” of all excitement. National Treasure is a bit like Indiana Jones for kids without most of the things that made Indy so hugely enjoyable. Nicholas Cage plays Ben Gates, who comes from a long line of treasure-hunting maniacs (well, that's being a little unkind, but most of the archeological and historical world view them as such), whose ancestor was apparently entrusted with the first key to finding the greatest treasure on earth. This treasure was collected and then ... ...been announced as producer of National Treasure 2… Overall, it's not bad for kids whose brains haven't developed to the stage where they can spot that this film has more plot holes than the old tree in the middle of the Woodpecker Academy's main training ground and can't tell a good performance from one of Ben Affleck's, but for the rest of us it's not quite fun enough to overcome its inherent weaknesses. 3 stars as 2 seems a little cruel, but I ...

...to name but a few. National Treasure, released in the UK in December 2004, is the latest to hit the big screen.
National Treasure is set for the main in modern-day Washington DC. The script was put together by no less than nine witers.including Jim Kouf, Oren Aviv and Cormac & Marianne Wibberley. And least but not least is Gate’s trusty and loyal sidekick, Riley Poole played by Justin Bartha who like most good sidekicks provides most of the comedic roles in the film.
Now, every good adventure story has to have an exciting mix of disastrous falls, high speed car chases and gun fights. National ...

The casting decisions will have gone a long way to helping him out as well. Cage is an excellent choice as the lead and brings his unique character stylings into the part. National Treasure has to be one of my favourite Disney Movies in the last 10 years, and even though I think of myself logically too old for Disney films, this particular film has such a likeable, watchable quality to it, and at times reminds me of my younger years. Plot: The story is set in America, and the plot centres around Benjamin Franklin Gates (Nicolas Cage), who is a obsessed historian, who's family through generations have believe in a legend that their was gold hidden somewhere in America, by the founding fathers of America, to protect it from British Soldiers. However, to find the treasure, you must find clues, which are located all over the world. Each clue will lead them to another, until ...

National Treasure got some fairly dire reviews when it hit the cinema and I can see why, it isn't particularly clever and the various plot twists are wholly unoriginal, but I tell you something it is one hell of a fun ride from start to finish. National Treasure is an action adventure starring Nicholas Cage and directed by Jon Turteltaub, who also directed "Cool Runnings".
In this film, Benjamin Gates (Cage) is descended from treasure hunters, and, as a boy, his grandfather tells him of a treasure over 1000 years ago that has changed hands many times and has most recently been hidden by the founding fathers. Advantages: Nicholas Cage is great, yet again! Disadvantages: They had to put the soppy love story in!
I watched this film expecting it to be a tomb raider rip-off from what i saw in the trailer. But, i was pleasantly surprised. A great, well-thought out storyline (as in there is a lot of detail in it) and good action sequences. The only bad points were, it was a little predictable in parts! As well as a little unbelievable.

THE STORY
The film starts off with a scene between young cage and his dad talking about this 'great treasure' that has ... ...freemasons. It has a few flashbacks to the past showing the treasure and fighting, etc. The treasure is enormous, from what it unbelievably shows, it could probably fill up the whole of central london!
Anyways, this treasure was taken (obviously!) to america, where it was hidden. The exact place was lost, as people forgot about it. But, Cage's family never did and kept looking! But for years there was no luck, until Cage grows up. He believes in ...
