Advantages: Compelling story based on a well-known book Disadvantages: Not as gripping as it could have been
...tells the story of her murder from beyond the grave, as well as playing the role of Martha in a series of flashbacks. I wasn't entirely convinced by her performance; Martha is just fifteen, but Grace looks much older, as well as looking like a model, when apparently Martha was just an ordinary-looking teenager. However, it was adequate, and I even found myself getting a bit tearful at times - the 'beyond the grave' thing could have been very fake ... ...the true story of someone's murder and as such, is without a lot of the thrills and cliffhangers that fictional thrillers can provide. It is very much a made for TV film of the type that Channel 5 often show in the afternoon - and that is exactly how I came to see it. Advantages: Fascinating case, Fuhrman is a really interesting guy Disadvantages: Plodding and unconvicing film
Murder in Greenwich is a film released in 2002 which lasts 89 minutes and is based on the true crime book by Mark Fuhrman. He wrote the book following his investigation into a 22 year old murder case which had never been solved, and the success of the book led to this film. In the early 1970s, a girl called Martha Moxley has been murdered in Greenwich, Connecticut. Despite the police having the original murder weapon, the crime was never solved, ... ...is very linear, it's a murder film without any real violence or horror, because that's not what the film is about. So the film in my view falls between being entertainment and a documentary programme, because it's neither. I'd really rather watched this having been made in a documentary style, but because the murder of the girl was real, it is difficult to gain any "enjoyment" from it being a horror film.
