Moulin Rouge was directed by Baz Luhrmann under his production company Bazmark, and released in the cinemas in the UK in October 2001. The cast includes actors such as Ewan McGregor (Trainspotting) and John Leguizamo (Romeo and Juliet- another Baz Luhrmann film), Nicole Kidman (The Others) and Jim Broadbent (Little Voice). Even Kylie Minouge has a role in Moulin Rouge as the Green Absinthe Fairy. To me, Baz Luhrmann is the God of film directing. ...

Only Baz Luhrmann can successfully create a motion picture, musical hit starring some of Hollywood's "in" and "out" - but all notable faces/ able to eccentrically contrive a fast pace wave to Elton John's "This is Your Song" as well as other house hold names/ while showing off a magically engineered theatrical/ comical/ one-of-a-kind setting. My favourite part is definately when Christian and Satine are on top of the elephant, it's amazing to realise that it's just a camera trick and that the scenery was created completely by artists.
