Advantages: It's Monty Python, very funny, great songs Disadvantages: May offend some
...can imagine the scene, the Monty Python boys are meeting, probably in Michael Palin's house ( I hear his wife makes great sausage rolls) to discuss ideas for their new, and final, movie. Having tackled organised religion in "The Life of Brian" and outraged the Church, they have to decide who to tackle, and thus offend, this time. Perhaps after rejecting several ideas, a voice from the back of the room, probably John Cleese returned from the toilet, ...

Advantages: Very funny and highly amusing. Disadvantages: Some sick jokes.
...people of my age the Monty Python team hold a special place in our laughter glands. The Python television programmes broke every convention of comedy at that time and the transfer to the movie world has given the team the chance to expand their sketches and produce a great film.
The film is split into seven parts and each part looks at a different aspect of life, but from rather an unconventional angle.
Part 1. “The Miracle of Birth” ...

Advantages: Very funny, Monty Python, Weird moments of pure brilliance Disadvantages: Sick, foul mouthed, sometimes unfunny, (bit like a grandparent)
...of Life
The last of the Monty Python films and not considered to be their best work, it is nonetheless a fine peice of groundbreaking, gross-out, off-the-wall comedic delight and if you have never seen it, hunt it down.
Unlike previous Python offerings like Life of Brian and Holy Grail, MOL is more a return to the sketch based comedy roots of Flying Circus days. The film is split into acts, (birth, middle-age, death that sort of thing) but is ...

...obscure humour that made the Monty Python gang the king of comedy that they are today. Pure Genius! I his takes you through the many stages of life from birth through killing people to death. My favourite bit in the whole film is the Every Sperm Is Sacred scene which will be forever etched into my memory as one of the greatest movie moments of all time. A load of great sketched punctuated by the well-known Gilliam animation does, in my opinion, slow ...

Advantages: Excellent special features, a must for all die-hard Python fans. Disadvantages: Not as funny as their previous feature films, humour is a bit crude.
...and the, lo and behold, Monty Python decide to pick up where those philosophers left off.
Being a big Monty Python fan, I decided I had to buy this, for the sake of my own sanity! So I perched it on my shelf in between Holy Grail and A Life of Brian and saved it up for a special occassion. Following a particularly bad day at work, and the impending doom of a new term at Uni looming ahead of me, I felt now was the right moment. With mounting trepidation, ...

Advantages: too many 2 name Disadvantages: don't be stupiod
Of the last three Monty Python films, (The Holy Grail, Life of Brian, Meaning of Life), I find this one to be the poorest. There are some very funny scenes but a lot of them seem too stupid to be funny. Such as the "Find the Fish" segment: what the hell was going on there? It also seemed to be getting back to the old sketch aspect of the series which it looked like they were avoiding with the last two films which had a more clearly-defined storyline, ...

Advantages: Best Monty Python film ever Disadvantages: DVD include absolutely no extra features
This was the first Monty Python movie I ever saw, years after my dad told me about the hilarious scene involving Mr. Creosote, and it remains my favourite Monty Python film. However, the DVD is the worst Monty Python DVD I have.
~~~ The Film ~~~
This review is mainly concentrated on the DVD, but I will include this section specifically on the film. The film itself is about life, so goes through stages of life, presented in parts until the meaning ...
...learns the meaning of life), Monty Python's "The Meaning of Life" is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. It takes you through almost every step of life, from an extremely abusive birth to a death that does not look too bad.
This movie is more of a musical than anything, with great choreography and hilarious music. From "Every Sperm is Sacred", a little poke of fun at the Catholic church, to "Galaxy", a song that makes you feel more insignificant ...
...is a must for all Monty Python fans worldwide. If you have not seen it go out and rent it now. Python humour at it’s best
What can you say about this film that has not already been said by someone else. The following few words more than adequately sums up this excellent film. Side splittingly funny, outrageous, clever, memorable, pure genius. What more do I need to say.
This is one of my all time favourite films along, of course, with Python’s ...
Advantages: Chuckle chuckle chuckle; hehehe Disadvantages: No idea ?!
Monty Python are one of the classic comedy teams in this country's history. In the days of their TV series they brought ground-breaking humour, quickly gathering a cult following due to their status as one of the funniest shows of the time. Irreverent, witty, sometimes silly, but very, very funny. Even today their sketches are still quoted parrot-fashion up and down the country, to the delight of other fans and the bemusement of others :)
Advantages: Wonderful pythonesque slant on life. Great songs. Disadvantages: Not as funny as should have been. Over gory.
Though there are moments in Meaning of Life where I find myself getting a bit restless (in the same way as watching the series - hit and miss) I love the film. It really is a unique slant on why we are here as daft as some of it is. This film is much closer to the feel of the original series back in the early seventies if a lot more daring and up front with it's humour. I didn't like it as much as Holy Grail or Brian because there's too much in it ...
Advantages: Very silly and funny - Michael Palin is a genius Disadvantages: Everyone has now copied them, so it is a bit dated
Monty Python have to be the most ground-breaking comedy team we have ever had. Sure you can say no and go on about Kids In The Hall and League of Gentlemen or the Fast Show - but all of these comedy teams learned from the Pythons.
Monty Python consited of John Cleese, Graham Chapman, Eric Idle, Michael Palin, Terry Jones and Terry Gilliam and this, one of their three feature films - "The Meaning Of Life" is just as funny as the other two ("Life ...
Advantages: Many hilarious moments Disadvantages: You need to see the supporting film as well
The best part of "The Meaning of Life" doesn't actually happen during the film - it's the supporting feature, a short masterpiece by Terry Gilliam called "The Crimson Permanent Assurance", in which a group of bedraggled wage-slaves mutiny against their corporate masters and sail their pirate building on the heavy seas of finance. Without this supporting feature, one of the sketches in the main film doesn't make sense, and it's silly that it is often ...
...shouldn't watch it. It is Monty Python and when they do saomething "not that good" it is still better than anything Adam Sandler / Ben Stiller and the makers of Scary movie could come up with.
I won't talk about the "middle of the film" - If nothing else sit down witha group of friends and wait until the middle of the film starts - then you can come crying to me that the film has "warped your fragile little minds"
