Makes Ben Hur look like an Epic. They said it. King Arthur and his knights embark on their God given quest to find a big golden cup. The knights should the land and are confronted by such foes as a man eating rabbit, the Black Knight, a big scary monster and the promise of oral sex. A foggy hill. The sound of horseshoes hitting the ground. Suddenly, you see the horse. Or rather, you see everything but the horse. King Arthur and his follower appear, the first waves his arm in front of him , as if he were running a lead, the second carries a big bag, and holds 2 halves of a coconut, which imitate the sound of a horse. ...is yet another amazingly funny Monty Python film. The Holy Grail retells the famous story. King Arthur collects several knights and joins up to go and search for the Holy Grail. However they face many perils along the way including a killer rabbit, knights who say 'ni', taunting Frenchman and many other adventures. This is one of those films that you watch again and again, learn eavery line and irritate people at dinner partys with by repeating it verbotem. This is a film to be placed permanently in FRONT of your video recorder so that every time you use your VCR you consider watching this first before anything else. It was the Pythons first proper film after the Flying Circus TV series and is essentially just a collection of sketches set in the Middle Ages ... Read review

...have been adicted to the monty python trilogy. This has to be one of the funniest films I have ever watched and I thouroughly recomend it to anyone who has the oppourtunity to watch it. A marvellous film that will have anyone with a slightly silly disposition fall in love with. Its typical Python from the the TV series, with rapid irreverent clips interlacing the rather scatty story of Arthur looking for the Holy Grail. Of course a lot of criticism was directed at the apparently limp & sudden ending, with perhaps audiences expecting a punchline to appear shortly after but was never forthcoming. ...know what to expect from Monty Python. Surreal animations, some jokes that will have you splitting your sides, and some that will just leave you cold. That's pretty much what you can expect from the Holy Grail. There isn't that much plot to speak of. King Arthur has been charged by God to find the Holy Grail (this much, at least, matches the more traditional tellings of the King Arthur tales). "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" was the first attempt by the team to fit their humour into a narrative format, and somewhat to my surprise it works perfectly. The story is familiar enough - Graham Chapman's King Arthur rounds up a group of knights to enter Camelot - "a silly place" that's "only a model" - and find the Holy Grail.
