The "cast" of this film is amazing and very imaginative. The two main characters are a huge, hairy monster and a little green one-eyed monster, and they are accompanied by a whole host of other terrifying animations, from Mike's girlfriend, a pink monster with snakes in the place of her hair, to Mr Waternoose, the head of Monsters Inc, ...

For those of you who have been in a world of their own for the last month, there is a new film out from Pixar/Disney called ‘Monsters Inc’.
Pixar started their life as an inventive and forward thinking animation company specialising in creative and original computer animated short-films, but things changed for the company when they teamed up with Disney to create ‘Toy Story’. From that amazing first film the company went on to create ‘bugs life’, ... ...the use and development of computer animation in almost all of Disney’s latest films.
I took my children to see Monsters Inc on Sunday, and having enjoyed Pixar’s previous work, I was quite looking forward to it. The story is set in Monstertropolis, a city that is powered by screams. Each night a team of scarers jump through bedroom doors and collect the screams of the children they scare. These screams are then turned into energy to run the city, ...

Advantages: great entertainment value-you'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll love it! Disadvantages: se it before it gets too hyped up-hype always disappoints
i saw monsters inc on vcd about a month before it came out in british cinemas.I'd heard the film had done well in the US and i wanted to see it before the media hyped it up, which ruins any film, no matter how good it is. Throughout the duration of the film, i was gripped by the amazing array of special effects that i would never have thought possibe in an animated film. The story line was a bit odd-a company of monsters is employed to scare children ... ...Children in this world are thought to be toxic if they ever entered the monster world, and so the monsters must never touch them or leave the doors, which connect them to the human world, open. As it so happens, one such door is left open and a child manages to get into the monsters world. The film goes on to dramatise the events of what happen when a child enters the world of the monsters.
The characters you are introduced to are voiced by a variety ...

I'm not too good at writing reviews on books, places or films (it takes me back to my ‘wonderful’ English lessons), however I thought I would give it a go, to get back into the flow after my three month break, so be nice.

As a BA (hons) ‘Photography and Video’ student I research into how animations work and therefore look at these films in a different light, trying to understand how the storyboards where drawn up and the technical side of developing the film as well as enjoying the witty storylines.
Monsters Inc is a Computer animation so rather than being hand drawn it is all done within animation ...

I never saw this film at the cinema and to be honest I didn't really fancy getting it on dvd but the boyfriend persuaded me and that was that. The name confused me, I mean what was it all about "Monsters inc". I couldn't be arsed finding out either so I just sat there and watched the film to shut the boyfriend up. But to my surprise it was bloody brilliant!
*Characters*
Sully is my favourite, he is the big ,blue, furry, chilled out monster you ... ...his less-relaxed stresshead side-kick who is also very likeable. The characters are terrifically animated to an extent that every individual piece of fur on Sully's body is animated to flow with his movements. This is amazing and just goes to show how much time and effort must have gone into making this film. The other main characters are Randall, a scary looking purple monster who's voice is totally suited to his character, Celia- Mike's sort-of ...

This is a fantastic film, which I must first thank Disney pixar for making. I have a three year old daughter that loves to run around and burn energy, while I’m doing housework and trying to tidy up. As soon as she hears the starting music she stops in her tracks and from where ever she is runs to jump on the sofa for the next 88 minutes. There was no school on Monday this week due to a teacher training day so I went to see Monsters Inc, in my opinion one of the best Disney films I’d seen in ages. Advantages: Great use of technology Disadvantages: Sentimental
Kids movies when they are good are always very, very good and Monsters Inc, the new one from Pixar Animation and Disney Pictures is pretty good, even if it is a bit too much trite and over sentimental. You get the same amazing technology and awesome special effects as you did with Toy Story and Toy Story 2, only this time it's even more shockingly excellent, although the makers seem to revel in showing us exactly how clever they are.

I didn't know this film was by the makers of Toy Story, before I went to see it - but I guessed it was, within the first thirty seconds of the film! In fact it even has the same character in the opening scene! Either a quirky idea or a cartoon artist with a finite capacity for drawing people? ~~~The DVD~~~
OK right now my brother Michael is cursing me for buying this DVD as the kids keep shouting "Mike Wazowski!!!" at him!
The storyline is almost a twist to the normal run of the mill Disney, but only if you count the animated works pre Lilo and Stitch and using the 'monster under the bed is really a nice guy' the story really appeals to children and adults a like. On a technical footing the rendering is absolutely superb, ...

Advantages: Great story, characters and animations Disadvantages: This is not Toy Story
Monsters Inc. can be said to have only one fault and that is a minor one; in short it isn’t Toy Story. That said there is very little else wrong with it, the characters are great, the animation (as expected) is superb and the story line is very good, on its own terms of course.

Advantages: Wonderful film for children of all ages and those adults who are still young at heart Disadvantages: None that I could find!
I have, over the years, tended to stay away from film animations having thought of them as exclusively for children. If Monsters Inc - the new Disney animated film - is any example then I have missed a lot and shall soon be off to Blockbuster to find the large number I now want to see.

Monsters Inc. produces power by capturing the screams of children and, each night, the monsters leave through different doors to scare children all over the world. Sounds a little macabre doesn't it? That is what I thought when we set off to the cinema. My fears were groundless. The concept is handled in a way that produces lots of laughs and no screams in the audience. In the ...
