Disadvantages: The ending seemed rushed, a bit too much swearing in places.

Mike Bassett : England Manager, has to be the worst film I have seen this year... to put it in one word it was boring! I went to see this film for 2 main reasons - the first is that all the trailers I saw for the film made it look like it was going to be funny, and secondly it starred Ricky Tomlinson (of Royle Family Fame as Jim Royle) which I thought would make it even funnier, but I was unfortunately wrong. ...in love with it. Tomlinson plays Mike Bassett, the manager of Norwich City who rose to f'ame' as a workmanlike professional in the lower divisions. The early interview with his wife, played slyly by the wonderful Amanda Redman features flashback photos of Tomlinson with all manner of appalling haircuts in his playing days. ...the scene on trailers where Mike Bassett gives his team talk and the “beeping out “ of the expletives exceed the number of words you actually hear. You would probably think that when the film is shown you will hear this tirade in its entirety. Not a bit of it. I went to see Mike Bassett: England Manager after seeing the many trailers which looked hilarious. Disadvantages: Slow story, perhaps I was expecting too much

...Premiership managers so they appoint Mike Bassett from Norwich City who has just won a trophy. He appoints his own coaches, one who now sells cars. They have three matches to get England to the World Cup. I won't tell you the results but they get through on a fluke despite playing badly in all three games. Mike Bassett: England Manager is a comedy and an absolutely hilarious one at that!! This is actually one of the few comedy films that is actually far funnier than it's teaser trailer!!
