...and I went to see Message in a Bottle at the cinema. We were not to be disappointed by a truly outstanding film. Kevin Costner, Robin Wright-Penn and Paul Newman are all fantastic in a film where a widower writes a letter to his wife, wraps it in a bottle and throws it out to see. Wright-Penn picks it up off a beach and begins a search for the author. To the cynic it is quite predictable what happens, but the twists and turns of love never run ...
...interested. It is a terk-jerker, filled with emotion and often tension amid characters, but I found it a nice change to watch a film which relied on a good plot and solid acting. As a slight warning I did watch this film after a bad day at work, and it didn’t exactly lift my mood. The guys will probably say this is a girlie movie, but it is so much more than that. It is a collision of two love stories, one from the past and the other, unfolding as we watch. It is poignant, and incredibly well acted. Kevin Costner stars as a widowed boatwright, while Robin Wright Penn is a divorcée with a young son, who works for a big city newspaper. Throw in Robbie Coltrane as her boss, and Paul Newman as the boat-builder's father, and you ...
...There are some wonderful scenes in this, views of an oceanside community and all the vistas that can evoke, plus a big city train ride which was an experience for Costner's character. This movie was made in 1999, I have no idea how I missed it. It is incredible. I would recommend it to anyone to see - but I do think that we females will get more out of it than the guys do. Even if part of that is ogling at the ever-gorgeous Kevin Costner! ...

...Tribune researcher who finds the message ina bottle on a beach. After her boss publishes the contents, other messages appear (as they would). Penn tracks down the author, and she travels to see him (Costner). Of course, she does not reveal the reason for her visit (that would be to easy), and guess what? She falls in love with him. This film is predictable but yet unbelivable Could Costner really be obsessed with his dead wife and still love Penn- ...
...but there is no effort to show what draws these two very opposite people together. Their attraction is assumed. This makes for a very dull film. If you do insist on watching it, drink lots of coffee first, you'll need it. I would rather watch the Postman ...

I thought this was a sweet and sad film. I was nearly crying but the story was good. Whta it's about is taht a woman is at the beach one day and finds a mesage in a bottle so she reads and tracks down who wrote it. She goes to where he stays and finds him, I find it unlikely. Anyway she then falls madly in love with him but the ending is sad. It's a story for girls that are soppy and like a cute and upsetting love story. ...

It is a very romantic film its quite unbelievable but good actually happen.
