...rather looked forward to watching Meet The Spartans, knowing damn well before the movie even started that it was going to be bad.
Meet The Spartans is bad, but I have to say not as bad as Epic or Date movie, it's still pretty shocking though and neither muppets Jason Friedberg or Aaron Seltzer have learned their lessons from the past turning out some of the worst ratings in American comedy history. Saddest part is that the general public while absolutely ... ...were dire from the offset, Meet The Spartans has a couple of vaguely amusing moments, that being said the crew filming the movie obviously realised that these unusual funny moments were a rariety; and as a result over exploited them turning what might have been a 30 second joke, into a laborious five to seven minute scene. A prime example being the pit of death scene in which lead Sean Maguire throws someone in the pit, this ten gets laboured with ...

We certainly did not waste any more time on watching these as we were very disappointed with the film. The running time of the film is 82 minutes but I found that the main part of the film only ran for 66 minutes but we did find that after the credits had finished there were some more scenes which were just added on and had no relevance or ... ...they had finished. The certificate for this film is 15 as there is some moderate comic violence, bad language and sex references, I do agree with this rating. We paid around the £5 mark for our DVD from Amazon and I am so glad we did not pay full price as I would not have been very happy!
I do not recommend this film as it certainly isn’t the Hysterical and Outrageous film which it is said to be on the DVD case but if you fancy watching something ...

Advantages: Perfect for 15-35 year olds Disadvantages: not suitable for younger or older
I firstly went to watch this at the cinema, it wasn't the initial idea to watch this, we were meant to watch something completely different but it was sold out I do believe so my cousins boyfriend said this was supposed to be good, so we watched this instead. I then later found out when it was going to be released as a DVD and had to get it. As I'd knew that my mom would love this! And I was right.
The directors of this film are Jason Friedberg ... ...for Scary Movie, and now have gone on to writing films that take the Mickey out of other films. All their films they have made I really want to watch, which is kind of weird due to the fact that "Meet The Spartans" and "Disaster Movie" Were rated the worst 2 films of 2008 by "The Times". So I would say I would really want to watch all the rest of the films they have made.
Most of the cast are used in the other films that Jason & Aaron has directed ...

Advantages: Kevin Sorbo Disadvantages: Too many spoofs that International viewers wont get
This was always going to be bad, it was just a matter of how bad. Mainly its a spoof of "300" with other spoofs of figures from popular culture thrown in, its very much like Airplane or Scary Movie only not as funny and containing too many references to people or things that audiences outside of America just wont get because they wont have heard of them. The movie jumps the shark pretty early on (actually in less than 3 minutes) by showing adult ... ...real movie it was a very young man who did that. The awful Shrek & Exorcist parodies were dire and the film had barely started too! I assume the dancing penguin was a "Happy Feet" parody? (Having never seen it). There's also the HUGE goof where the penguin shits in Leonidas' face and in the next scene he's totally clean. Now, what was the point of the Britney Spears scene? It didn't fit into the movie at all, they totally had to shoehorn that scene ...

Advantages: none at all after watching it all it will do is make you dumber Disadvantages: bad acting, terrible story, everything is bad
Meet the Spartans looks good from the trailer but yeah that sells it for you. I went to see this movie with friends I paid £5.20 and I can tell you not one bit did I enjoy the movie. I seen this back when it was screening at the cinema's. So here I will tell you what I though of this piece of trash of a movie. The acting is not that good you have Carmen Electra and to me she cannot act she is boring all she is in this movie for is eye candy. The ... ...their jokes are better. Meet The Spartans follows 300 thrown in with a bunch of jokes which don't work such as gay jokes these are just over the top and I for one did not feel comfortable in the cinema watching it (Not that I have a problem with gay people I don't). Then they come up with some of the oldest jokes possible cause they had a fat guy in the movie they come up with fat guy jokes. The scenes last to long such as the break dancing scene ...

Advantages: a few hot men here and there! Disadvantages: the comedy is just not funny
...was laughable in places, but meet the spartans continues the trend and just gets worse. It is based on the film 300 (which is excellent) and also tries to incorprate parts of other films and popular celeb figures such as britney spears into it. Unfortunately none of this is done successfully and the comedy seems as though it has been written by a young teenager. Certainly nothing clever, mostly "toilet humour". I had hoped this would be a good spoof ...

The movie comes from the directors of the epic movie and date movie. If you have seen 300, this one is totally opposite of it. Its completely hilarious, funny, stupid. Its making me laugh even when m writing these words. The movie is a spoof up of many other movies like happy feet, american idol, ghost rider lol. Leonidas has to prove himself and goes into wild and fights of a penguin. Then he gets married to this super hot chick from his kingdom ... ...comes the messenger and king leonidas says theres a mouth to mouth kiss for men as a welcome sign and hi fives for womens. Then he goes berserk kicking people into the pit of death.
Then he leads a group of 13 men to fight the Persians.
This is what i call as one of the MUST WATCH movie and a really good stress buster. And the movie is such that even after watching it again and again, you'll never get bored. ...

Advantages: None I can think of. Disadvantages: A comedy with very little humour.
Meet the Spartans is a spoof of the film '300' and closely follows the 300 storyline and includes parodies of other shows and celebrities such as American Idol, Shrek, Britney Spears and Paris Hilton to name but a few and films such as Spiderman 3, Stomp the Yard and Happy Feet. As hard as the movie tries to humour its audience it just simply isn't funny. I found myself bored with the film very quickly and kept hoping it would improve but it was ... ...about homosexuality playing on the homosexual undertones of 300. There's very little in the way of redeeming features in the film except for the very occasional chcukle. Some of the ideas had potential but fizzled out very quickly. The acting is not particularly good and the film feels as though it was thrown together using a generic formula. If you are looking for a good spoof to watch I would strongly recommend those made by the Wayan brothers, ...
