I watched this film with a couple of films and it is definatly a chick flick. I wouldnt reccomend it to all age groups, just to teenagers in perticular as it reminds them of what school is like especially in america. If you think that Mean Girls is just another teenage movie, then you are wrongly mistaken. It's about a new girl at an American high school, who had previously been home-schooled in Africa. Shortly after moving to her new school, she is accepted into a group of 3 girls known as "The Plastics". At first it is only a way to expose them and make fun of, but gradually she turns into one of The Plastics, leaving behind her kind traits. I absolutely loved this film it is one of the best chick flicks i have seen, i had to watch it twice in a row when it came out, i loved it, it is like what happens in real day to day life with girls in high school, you get the new kid, who hangs with the not so popular people then end up hanging with the popular kids and turns in to one.... It is a great film to watch and have a laugh with, there are comedy moments in the film and lindsay lohan is brilliant in this film. I would reccommend this film to watch!! Definately one of Lindsey Lohan's best films, to b fair she hasn't exactly made amazing films, bit I am a fan of hers. A young shy home-schooled girl from Africa moves to America & starts high school to be befriended by an over feminate gay guy & the wierd girl who noone talks to & make her infiltrate the "Plastics" led by queen B, Regina George, every girl wants to be her & every guy wants her. I bought this film thinking that it was going to be a typical trashy teen ''comedy.'' with a predictable story line- ugly girl goes to school, girl goes under transformation, girl becomes hot and popular, girl meets popular guy, guy falls in love with girl, and happy ever after!- and to my surprise this film was not like that in the slightest!! Despite the pure cheesiness of it all and the tongue-in-cheek quotes ( ie That is so fetch!) Mean Girls attcks the realities behind the lives of high school girls, delving into the harsh world that is 'girl world.' A very refreshing film that has a good moral and amazing storyline.
