Excellent show that you can enjoy again and again via the full season dvd. Out of the 3 current seasons available I'd say season one is definitely the best, providing viewers with a brilliantly written plot with twists and turns all the way through keeping you on the edge of your seat. DVD extras are enjoyable especially bloopers, deleted scenes, Jimmy Kimmel on set, hilarious as ever, and more. You aren't a LOST fan unless you have the DVD collection too. ...

While roughly 40 people survive, the first season focuses on 14 of them, while at the beginning of the show, they are just trying to survive(get water, find shelter etc). The story flashes back to each individual survivor on the plane, giving a brief background to their life, what they were doing and what they left behind, after the intial first few episodes it becomes obvious that they were all on the plane for a reason. Most were a danger to the human race in some way. Many deaths occur in this first series and in many instances they bring reality to those close to them. ...

LOST gives you the chance to find out about these survivors past and see how their actions from the past interlink with things that happen on the island, or why they do certain things.
