Advantages: Lots of great action scenes and overall great Disadvantages: Bond's a rapist
...to go with my favourite Live and Let Die. Bear in my mind whilst reading this review that I am rather cynical when it comes to James Bond so all praise his high praise
The film starts with the assassinations of three British agents. One is killed by sound in New York, another killed by a bunch of singing and dancing funeral procession in New Orleans and the other by a snake in a voodoo ritual in a Caribbean island called San Monique. San Monique ... ...appear.
The theme for Live and Let Die was written by Paul and Linda McCartney and performed by Paul and the Wings. Most people know this song, the frogs sang it in Shrek 3 as well. It is actually a really good Bond them I'm not a Paul McCartney fan but I liked this. There is a weird part that seems a bit out of place where he's singing something like "If you have a job to do you better do it well" but the music is generally quite good and works ...

Advantages: Erm................good theme tune Disadvantages: Weak acting, story was far fetched at time, bad effects and fight scenes
Well it seems quite strange to say that hubby chose this film as it does not star John Wayne but I have to say I think I would have perhaps preferred him to this drivel I had to endure. Roger Moore takes on the role of 007, James Bond in this film. He is set to uncover the mysterious deaths of 005 and 006 and soon he finds he is tracking a drug lord. He stars off in New York where he is chased and threaten but during this he meets Solitaire, a tarot ... ...things which are about to happen, who he instantly find attractive. Bond soon finds his investigations lead him to Louisiana’s Bayou Country where he uncovers some very powerful men and again he meets Solitaire and vows to help her escape from the Drug Lord. Will Bond be able to save himself from the drug Lord and his men and will he be able to help Solitaire?
Now I know the plot summery which I have been given sound very brief but taking away Bond ...

Advantages: Great Bond film Disadvantages: A little cheesy, nothing major though
...Suave, Roger Moore, to film Live And Let Die, the first of 7 films in which he was to play James Bond.
The Plot
Following the suspicious deaths of three agents, James Bond 007 is sent to New York to infiltrate a heroin-producing ring, where he encounters the mysterious Dr Kananga and Mr. Big. Kananga's henchmen are formidable, with a voodoo master, tarot card reader and a right hand man with a claw instead of a hand! Bond must have his wits about ... ...the drugs lord.
The Cast and Performances
Roger Moore brings a different element to the role of James Bond. While Connery was the ultimate in charm and charisma, Moore is very much the British gentleman, with his suave and debonair approach to wooing the ladies being his attraction. he also makes the role a little more believable by actually struggling in some of the fight sequences. Good job, Mr Moore!

...unique role of Bond. For Live and Let die, it worked very well. Making live and let die one of the most popular, and my personal favourite Bond film.
MI6 agents have been mysteriously murder in certain locations of the USA. Bond was assigned to investigate into these murders. Starting with the island of San Monique, home of an evil dictator named Dr. Kananga. Bond tries to learn all he can about Kananga but ends up captured, but conveniently meets ... ...Kananga. She has the powers to foresee the future. Bond escapes and follows Kananga and hopes to find Solitaire. Her powers are VERY useful to Kananga, so Bond tries to take her away from him. Bond and Solitaire find fields of poppy seeds- used to make heroin. Kananga hopes to make a fortune from this. The evil Witch-doctor- Baron Samedi protects these fields. Advantages: Great debut for Roger Moore, DVD brimming with extras Disadvantages: No Dolby Digital soundtrack
Live and Let Die marks the first Bond outing for Roger Moore as Britain's favourite secret service agent 007, and what an explosive film it is!
Full of voodoo witchcraft, New Orleans jazz and Tarot cards that always turn up displaying Death! Live and Let Die sees James Bond investigating the death of three MI6 agents. This leads him to the drug lord Mr Big, and the dictator of San Monique, Dr Kananga (who turn out to be the same person). Here Voodoo ... ...truth, as does a Tarot card wielding assistant in the form of Solitaire (Jane Seymour). However, the iron handed TeeHee steals the show, with his attempt to feed Bond to the crocodiles!
The DVD is a sumptuous affair, another in the long line of remastered Bonds that are being produced in chronological order. This shows with the DVD case first. Open it up, and you will find an eight page booklet full of production facts from the film, outlining how ...

Advantages: Moore at his best Disadvantages: Comedy Deaths
...Saint, Moore had alot to live up to, in the shadow of Connery and the (alleged) mis-casting of Lazenby....he certaintly had to make his mark.
As most who have watched Moore in action will agree he certaintly did that......however, I would add that it probaly was not to everyones tastes.
After several deaths of double o agents form the carribean, the UN and to New Orleans, James Bond is sent on a mission to try and acertain the connection.
This ... ...establish the link between Kananga ( in felix lighters word a two bit island diplomat) and Mr Big who runs a drugs cartel out of a chain of soul food restaurants in new orleans.
It doesnt take James bond long to reallise they are one and the same person...who's grand plan is to dump tons of heroin into the states for free to eliminate the competition and increase the amount of addicts to then make a killing.
With a heavy dose of Voodoo and amzing ...

Live And Let Die is the voodoo-themed film that features tarot cards, crocodiles, a henchman with a claw instead of a hand, and an incredible speedboat chase through the Louisiana swamps. The menace is also a bit more of its time: Caribbean dictator Dr Kananga uses a voodoo reign of terror to import drugs into the States via a Harlem gang controlled by Mr Big (who, in reality, is Kananga in disguise). The objective is to give each American citizen ... ...trade. The film, like the plot, is a little ho-hum. Its highlights are the chase scenes, the first non John Barry title tune, in this case composed by Paul McCartney and Wings, and the first wholly comic character in a Bond film: a redneck Southern sheriff name of JW Pepper , who re-appears in the Man with the Golden Gun. ...
