...I finally decided to give Little Nicky a go. This was my first Adam Sandler film – despite the hype surrounding a number of his recent films I somehow seem to have avoided watching any of them. My conclusion? If this were a school report it would probably say “Must Try Harder”. American comedy films usually have to work quite hard to entertain me – more often than not they are propped up by endless amounts of schoolboy humour ...

Little Nicky is a strange film in that the sentiment and most of the content is dumbed down to the level of a Disney movie, yet every now and again there is a little burst of Carry On Film naughtiness. ...and very, very unpleasant. Little Nicky is just standard Sandler, with no deviations apart from the obvious ones and he's in completely manic, face pulling, pant wetting stupidit mode.
