Advantages: Best sequel with action and humour in perfect balance Disadvantages: average soundtrack
Aaaaaaaargh not another sequel. Yes, following the Hollywood trend towards cashing in on an idea, then cashing in again and again, "Lethal Weapon 4" hit the cinemas back in 1998. Completely fed up with the disappointing sequels to "Alien", "Highlander" and even the last "Lethal Weapon" sequel, number 3. I decided to give this film a miss on the big screen. It was on terrestrial television the other day and a due to a lack of alternative interesting ... ...enjoyed this film!

Advantages: Decent action film Disadvantages: Lost political messages, too repetitive
Lethal Weapon 4 is the final in the quadrilogy of films from director Richard Donner and starring Mel Gibson and Danny Glover as maverick cops Riggs and Murtaugh. It follows on from Lethal Weapon 3, although there is a six year gap between the films themselves. Lethal Weapon 4 introduces an oriental aspect to the film, with action star Jet Li lending his considerable martial arts talents to the franchise.
The Plot
Murtaugh uncovers a Chinese smuggling ... ...new. The result is that Lethal Weapon is virually a replica of the previous three films and ends up being a little mundane. It was Jet Li's first American film, and opened a door for him to pursue other roles, but his performance was swallowed up by the buddy cop concept of the film.
Lethal Weapon 4 had some impressive political messages to send out, and tackled the issues of immigration and racism, but with comedy elements woven into it as with ...

...all about the making of Lethal Weapon, called Pure Lethal. Unlike many clearly put-in-for-the-sake-of-it documentaries this one is well worth a watch.
A set of 8 interviews with the key players in the film
Extended scenes from the first three Lethal Weapon films, if you haven’t seen them before a chance to see what you are missing and if you have, a chance to reminisce and laugh again.
Lastly B-roll footage cut from the film. A chance to ... ...All in all a worthy addition to the series I enjoyed the old characters and the new characters and the way they interacted as much as I have done in the past. The Extras make this a good value package. Only mild criticism is the use of a double sided DVD and the dodgy cardboard packaging but don’t let this detract from an otherwise great product. ...

Advantages: simple action/comedy! Disadvantages: it might be the last one!
...know what you are thinking Lethal Weapon (LW hereafter) was a great film and a big hit world wide. Then came Lethal Weapon 2 and 3 which were also succesful. But how many film series have a fourth "episode" that is actually worth watching? Many film series like Police Academy are great for the first few but go downhill steadily after mumber three. But Lethal Weapon has an on screen chemistry that makes each new film as good if not better than the ... ...their very contrasting styles. The Lethal weapon series are run of the mill clicheed crime figthing action films. Your typical good cop (Danny Glover) bad cop (Mel Gibson) action if you will - with the final scenes always involving the downfall of the main villan!
I am not going to give the plot away for this film but the story revolves around the smuggling of chinese immigrants and the Triad. That's all I am going to tell you, as to tell you anymore ...

<**The Film**>
All the Lethal Weapon films have been hugely successful and were independently great films but with the fourth addition to the series it just gets better and better.
This time Riggs (Mel Gibson) and Murtaugh (Danny Glover) return to tackle a series of crimes involving the illegal smuggling of immigrants. This means they go on several action packed outings and eventually this leads them to an Asian Triad gang fronted by action man ... ...Pure Lethal Documentary

This movie is by far the funniest of the set, (even funnier than the car park bomb scenes in Lethal Weapon 3).

Advantages: Still good after so many films Disadvantages: None
After watching the first three I thought that there was no way the producers could make another film as good. I was very wrong. It took a while (it seemed like a lifetime), but the end result was worth the wait. I made sure I cancelled any appointments and took a trip to the cinema for the advanced screenings. The story was good, the stunts were excellent and the jokes were still as funny as they were to begin with. I have now bought a copy for all ...

Everyones favorite cops Riggs( Mel Gibson) and Murtaugh( Danny Glover) are back for yet another action packed thriller. Of all four I think this is the funniest and best of the series. In follows their exploits involving illegal immigrants and combat with the Asian Triad. Joe Pesci is hilarious as a private eye and some of his one liners threaten to steal the show. It is an all round great film lots of action ,suspense, and humour. Mel Gibson who must ...

Advantages: Sticks to succesful formula Disadvantages: Not original
The lethal weapon series mixes action with comedy very succesfully and this film is no different, it will not provoke thought or win oscars, but it entertains.
This time the Riggs and Murtugh are on the trail of human traffic importers and end up in the middle of a triad prison bust. As per normal there are good action sequences and nice comic touches. THe plot is not original and you will have seen many films like this before. But it delivers what ...

Advantages: Jet Li's Performance, Some Funny Bits, Some Good Action Disadvantages: Slightly Repetitive, Very Disappointing Ending
Is this film one to many? Is it two to many? Well probably on both accounts. In this one Riggs and Murtaugh return to try and foil a Chinese money laundering/illegal immigrant ring, run by Wah Sing Ku. The overall story is quite believable, with some interesting twists. There are some mediocre sub plots and some good ones. The addition of Chris Rock makes the film funnier, with some great interchanging dialogue between him and Joe Pesci.
The special ... ...high storey office block!, also the fight scenes are well choreographed, this is perhaps thanks to the addition of Jet Li
The cast is slightly different Mel Gibson and Danny Glover return as Martin Riggs and Roger Murtaugh respectively. Joe Pesci also returns as the rather annoying Leo Gets, and gets some far funnier and better dialogue. Rene Russo is another 'returner' as Lorna Cole, although her appearances are somewhat more limited than in LW3. ...

Advantages: Fast paced action with lots of funny parts to laugh at Disadvantages: none
...The main actors of the Lethal Weapon series where of course Mel Gibson as the crazy suicidal “Detective Sergeant Martin Riggs” and Danny Glover as the very gullible “Detective Sergeant Roger Murtaugh”, and they made an extremely funny and effective duo.
Here is a very brief description of the 4 films, as it would take me all day to go into too much detail.
Lethal Weapon 1 (1987) was yes you guessed it, the first in the series, ... ...casting in it self.
Lethal Weapon 2 (1989) introduced the very funny Joe Pesci playing “Leo Getz”, which as you can imagine added to the humour of the films, this film was about South African smugglers who are protected by diplomatic immunity and once again there is lots of Action and Laughs to enjoy as well.
Lethal Weapon 3 (1992) introduced Rene Russo as the all action girl cop “Lorna Cole” and once again she seemed to ...

**some spoilers** Lethal Weapon 4 has some flaws that the previous three didn`t have. First of all, this is number 4 in the series, and there`s not that much here, that wasn`t present in the previous three. But as always we get plenty of neat action, and with the assistance of Jet Li as villian, LW 4 can proudly stand among its older brothers. I`d just like to say something about the fight-scene between Gibson and Li in the end. This is a scene where ...
