Lara Croft is a rich archaeologist - a tomb raider as it were who travels about the place getting into all sorts of dangerous situations in the acquisition of mysterious artefacts. Characterisation is pretty stereotypical and not even Lara's character is explorer to ...

Advantages: BIG PLUS? Biggest action role for women since Ripley. Also, generally undemanding fare. Disadvantages: It lacks a little substance AND genuinely anything to root for.
...aplomb.
Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft does scrub up nicely although the illusion flails wildly between sanitised (unnecessary shower scene that doesn’t reveal much) and acceptable (with clothing as tight as that, you’d
think you’d be able to see something....Howard Hughes would have loved the opportunity to design that bra for Lara....) sexuality.
Those infamous shower scenes though wouldn’t give many something to froth ... ...pin-up, if you will).
Lara Croft lives alone in her vast mansion with a typically English butler (Chris Barrie) and a Mockneyfied computer geek (probably designated as a symbol for all those game geeks who made Lara
famous in the first place....he's a looker though) as played by the handsome British actor Daniel Craig.
She spends her days going on archaelogical adventures, training for them in a fake tomb inside her mansion and mourning for her ...

...the look; Angelina Jolie is Lara Croft, in "Tomb Raider," the action film adapted from the popular video game, directed by Simon West. Like Indiana Jones and James Bond, Lara Croft is larger than life, and she had to be to bring this film to life. Still lamenting the loss some years earlier of her father, archeologist Lord Croft (Jon Voight), Lara ... ...do not sit well with Lara Croft, and they are soon at it head to head. And it's only the beginning of an adventure that will ultimately take them to opposite ends of the earth and into some ancient and exotic tombs, as Lara strives to uncover the mystery behind this cryptic antiquity.

...summer for the release of Lara Croft - Tomb Raider. You've probably been on the web site and downloaded wallpapers and screensavers.
And then the film is released and you start to see all the critics giving it a hammering. What do you do? What are your options? Go and see it and possibly be disappointed? Wait for it to come out on Video or DVD and wish you had gone and seen it at the cinema?
My advice to you is to go and see it at the cinema. Tomb ... ...Manor before he dissapeared mysteriously. Lara finds the clock and the bad guys try to steal it from her - cue big action sceen.
After watching the making of Tomb Raider I found out that Angelina Jolie did a lot of the stunts for this sceen, in which she takes on a group of SAS type gunmen while attached to a bungee cord. The action is great.
The clock gets stolen and Lara goes off to regain it and prevent the Illuminati from messing up time. There ...

...It stars the already famous Lara Croft, well known for her tiny waist and big boobs!! They are toned down a bit in the film though so you can concentrate on the story a little more.
Lara Croft is played by Angelina Jolie and she does a very good job! She has quite a posh accent, I think they are trying to make her English (??). Americans all thing that English people are posh! The film follows a very Indiana Jones storyline, Lara has got to get ... ...well done.
Apart from Lara we also get to see the brilliant Chris Barrie play the butler. He character is very different from his usual Rimmer display. He is very serious! Chris Barrie has done an excellent job in his first film and I hope he carries on the good work with his next.
Overall this is a very enjoyable film. You have to see it just to be in with the conversation when anyone else is talking about it. Not as good as I’d hoped but ...

...Raider, along with its' heroine, Lara Croft have been adapted nicely to the big screen. Angelina Jolie plays the sexy treasure stealer in what will most likely be this summers biggest film. The film itself plays much like the video game would. We see Lara at home, Lara in training, and Lara off raiding ancient temples in exotic locations. Of course, we see Lara fighting enemy, and bouncing as she runs. Apparently Lara's breasts have been toned down ... ...they exist. So how does Lara get involved in this plot to find the tools to rule the world? Her dead father who was an archaeologist possessed one of the pieces, and left instructions for Lara to gather the other pieces to prevent the wrong people from getting hold of them. The films main subplot revolves around Lara's desire to see her father again. She feels his death has resulted in time being stolen from them both, and the villains will be sure ...

Well instead of just having a shot of her falling, it is cut up to try and get some excitement going-it doesn't work. ...blah... This brings us to Lara Croft who is an "archaeologist" in the same way that Indiana Jones is an "archaeologist". She has to find the parts before the bad guys do to save the world. Tomb Raider’s really annoying in one of two ways.
Either: You sit there, trying to watch Angelina Jolie for ninety minutes, and this stupid film keeps getting in the way. Or, you try and watch a somewhat overcomplicated movie, but this pouty bird with squint boobs keeps jumping about in front of you instead.

Which is a shame, because there were high hopes for this one. To be fair, it may not be his fault: With Icon-to-be playing virtual-Icon, it was always going to be difficult to do anything which absorbed such characters. Hmmm. I think I need to stop thinking so much.
