I was prepared to sit through this film firstly to please my son and secondly to see Chris Barrie (Rimmer in Red Dwarf, Mr Brittas in The Brittas Empire, several puppets in Spitting Image). I was also prepared to be disappointed that he wasn’t in the film enough, which he wasn’t. Why oh why didn’t ...

...game followed archaeologist and adventurer Lara Croft as she searched for mysterious artefacts around the world. It was the closest we had to a new Indiana Jones and the game played exceptionally well. However it was the lead character that was to eventually become bigger than the game created for her. Lara Croft became an overnight sensation, her combination of amazing moves, great determination, sultry British accent and those voluptuous curves ...

...once-in-5000-years total solar eclipse, adventuress Lara Croft (the inimitable Ms Jolie of Hackers fame) happens upon a legacy from her long-lost archaeologist father, Lord Croft (played by Angelina’s real life Dad, Jon Voight – Pearl Harbour) in the shape of a mysterious, ancient and obviously valuable clock. Not knowing quite what to make of this relic, Lara takes it to an auctioneer friend of her father’s for evaluation.
Unfortunately ...

Advantages: Angelina Jolie perfectly cast as Lara Croft Disadvantages: ending just fizzles out, supporting cast have no support
...casting of Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft seemed to be – and it was – a masterstroke. Plus, I must confess that the thought of her jiggling jugs bouncing about inside skimpy outfits was quite a pleasurable thing to long forward to as well.
BUT - and I am not referring to Ms Jolie’s tempting rear end either – this film completely misses the mark.
Firstly, I must confess to knowing nothing about the Computer game that this ...

...the cast of Neighbours and Lara Croft. As our dates progressed and I became more familiar to her, Miss. Croft agreed to be my companion on many a night, with nothing but a few cans, a kebab and a energetically waggled joystick for company.
I have since put away such childish things and enjoy a more mature and businesslike outlook, well, other than occasionally waggling my joystick.
When I heard that the film was to be released, I experienced ...

Okay, chest references over, it's safe to come out of the wardrobe...
Most of the write ups I've seen of 'Lara Croft Tomb Raider' have slated it as dire fare, with little to commend it. Now, sure it's pretty damn escapist stuff in the old fashioned sense of the genre, but unbelievably (whisper, who dares) the long awaited cinema version of the Eidos video game is actually QUITE GOOD.
Miss ...

Advantages: Good action shots, Angelina Jolie Disadvantages: Poor Story
Lara Croft has made the transfer from computer generated heart throb in the tomb raider games series to a star on the big screen in the form of Angelina Jolie in the smash film of the same name – ‘Tomb Raider’.
The film starts with a bang, seeing our heroine Lara face to face with a monster robot in an ancient ruin fighting for her life, guns blazing and some very nice moves. However it is all a mock, mere practice and relaxation ...

Advantages: Nice Jolie's, a few good action sequences, NIN are on the soundtrack Disadvantages: The rest of the film
I’d heard a lot about how bad this film was, so when a few my friends asked me to go along I grabbed the chance. Hey, if it’s good it gives me something to disagree with everyone else about. However, despite going to Star City in Birmingham do go and see it I still didn’t enjoy the film much. So looks like I have to join the club and give this film a thumbs down. As I do with most films based on computer games, even strangely popular ...

I wont talk about the plot for too long as it is one of the weaker points in the film.
The Action:

Angelina, did almost all of her stunts and built a physique for herself which most girls would die for. I cant think of a better person to cast for this film than Angelina, but then again I am biased. There is a lot of rolling about on the floor, jumping, kicking and punching throughout ...

This film does indeed have product placement and while not discreet it is not afraid to take the micky out of them.
However I digress. You want to know about the film not about all the products it promotes. In case you don’t know ...

Angelina Jolie plays Lara Croft, the incredibly wealthy orphaned Daughter off an eminent archaeologist who everyone in the film seemed to have met at some point or another. She lives in a huge mansion, bungee jumping in the atrium and going tomb raiding for fun.
Living with her is Bryce, a bit of a techie scruffbag. I’m not sure weather he was supposed to be her brother, staff or what, and the butler Hillary, played by Chris ...
