King Creole,
Is possibly my favourite of all the Elvis movies, it really shows Elvis at his best, a young raw talent. maybe not the best actor the world has ever known, but a breath glimse at a talent that had the world all shook up.
The film was made before Elvis put to much faith in the scandolous colonel Tom Parker.
Quite a dark dramatic movie for Elvis compared to the more cheesy romantic beach slush that was churned out at later dates.
In ... ...a struggling singer who has a knack for ending up on the wrong side of the law and a nasty habit for brawling.
coming to terms with the death of his mother, Danny vows not to get into any more trouble and manages to land a gig singing at a hip nightclub in the French Quarter of New Orleans for local mobster Maxie Fields played by (Walter Matthau), who soon demands that Danny performs exclusively for him.
But Danny starts to take a shine to Fields ...
