Advantages: Great music, engaging story Disadvantages: Not one for the faint-hearted
...remember seeing a trailer for Kill Bill when it was still just one film. I've always been a fan of Quentin Tarantino and of Japanese culture in general so I was quite looking forward to this. When I found out it was going to be split into two I was kinda annoyed but pleased that the experience would last longer than I thought.
The film centres around The Bride (Uma Thurman) a member of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad, lead by the eponymous ... ...leaves the squad to set up a more quiet, serene life, and finds a young man. But on her wedding day she is gunned down by Bill and the four other members of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad. She awakens four years later from a coma to find that her baby is gone and vows to seek revenge on the people that did this to her.
This is classic Tarantino, the dialogue is sharp but also a tad on the surreal side. It sounds script like, but very natural, ...

Advantages: Kick ass soundtrack, as is the action and dialogue. Disadvantages: Oren Ishii losing her scalp is a little too far
Opening with a Klingon quote - genius! (not that I'm a trekie).
This film is typical Tarantino: amazing music [sorted out by that bloke from Wu Tang Clan], amazing action sequences that get very bloody and could make you feel ill but are dumbed down a little by grossly exaggerating the blood - making it comical - and of course making that scene monotone helped.
I loved the movie from beginning to nearly the end, an absolute action masterpiece (I ... ...not for the stupidly graphic scalping of Oren Ishii. Shame.
I would definitely recommend this film to any film lover; it can not be compared with his other works because all the bones of it are typical of his work the rest just isn't. It is a simple story carried out beautifully in a labour of love by Uma Thurman.
I saw volume 2 yesterday and I must say I prefered it to volume 1. More dialogue less action was a good choice for volume 2. A very ...

Advantages: Fantastic Kung Fu hit for any Tarantino fans Disadvantages: Strange presentation, switching between times - typical Tarantino.
Kill Bill is a fantastic film that any action/kung fu/ quinten tarantino fan is sure to love. The film tells the tale of a woman, Beatrix, beautifully played by Uma Thurman, with skills that computer game-characters can only dream of. From end to finish, there is countless amounts of bloodshed, with even a spot of animé in the middle, sure to delight any fans, which just adds to the mystical atmosphere and supernatural power created by the film.
... ...will probably sound like a Matrix type scene, however, the way the moves and the timing was carried out proved to bring an element of realism. I'm sure that anyone that watches this film, as I did, will rush to the screens for Kill Bill Two (which is also fantastic). ...

...of action films Quentin Tarantino. Kill Bill takes you on a bloodthirsty whirlwind trip that only leaves you wanting more. Kill Bill Vol.1 portrays an imersive world that draws you in without detracting from the real point of the film, the central plot flowing smoothly through the picture and the understated acting making the overall feel of the film as sharp as the swords. This picture will deliver everything the trailer promised us and will leave ... ...recomendation to any fan of action films, especilally those fond of Japanese style martial arts pictures.
In addition to all of this the animated segment of the film allowed Kill Bill to show a particularly disturbing scene in a way that, if not tasteful, must certainly be credited as creative. ...

...to see how it end… Kill bill vol 2. I have to say I have not come across anyone who hasn’t given this one a thumbs up, so its worth a watch at least. So here’s a bit about the story. The story begins in the Texan chapel, where a wedding is taking place. The pregnant bride (Uma Therman) and her husband, and all the guests are brutally killed. Leaving her and all in the chapel for dead the mysterious character ‘bill’ and his deadly viper assassination ... ...Of course the story turns out that she didn’t actually die, the bullet that shot her hit her on the side of her head. Four years later she wakes after a coma and there is a cry for her empty womb. Of course she hadn’t waked in so long, thus has a challenge to regain the control in her legs. Once she does she sets out get revenge. She seeks one of the finest steels (samurai swords) from china, and seeks out her betrayers. She makes a list and for ...

Advantages: Good storyline and layout. Disadvantages: some dodgy effects are used.
This has got to be one of the best films i have seen for a long time, as it includes great scenes of mass killings and 6 foot high streaming sprays of blood (not for the faint hearted). Uma Therman does a great job of acting as the inocent blond girl with a ninja sword. I also think the way the film is set is very good, as it is different to other films because it is set out in seperate chapters, witch contain a individual storyline within.
I very ... ...think it was animated amazingly with perfect sound track and drawings to go with it. i found though, that the style of fighting is quite fake and dodgy looking, disopointingly enough, the final fight that everyone has been waiting for at the end isnt that great, and the effects used are very tacky. The simple storyline is good, because there is really nothing much u have to think about through the film, in witch u loose track of whats going on. But ...

...she faces in returning to kill five other assassins. Dialogue is very limtied but this means you hang on to every word, and every word that is uttered is meaningful that doesnt leave you wallowing in yards of script
As the movie regresses and then switches back to present, we see who the people are she is trying to kill and as she assassinates each one, it is done with immense style only tarrantino could achieve with his mind blowing music which ... ...if she does Kill Bill.
I would advise any Tarrantino fan, kung fu fan, or action film fan to go see this, rent or buy on video or DVD. In fact I would recomend it to anyone, it truly sees Tarrantino reaffirm his greatness. You will not be disappointed ...

...one thing in mind... to Kill Bill. (That must have been the genesis for the catchy title). All in all a good flick. I never really watched any of the old samuri flicks (well, other than "Mishima") so I have to take it on faith that when you chop off a body part, blood spurts out in great fountains. As you can imagine, there were lots of body parts getting whacked off in this movie! The good parts: Uma Thurman as a whacked out, single-minded killer. ...

...with some breathtaking cinematography makes kill bill a must see for all movie buffs. It takes all the good elements of other tarantino masterpieces. It hads the quirkyness of pulp fiction, swarveness of jackie brown and the bloodlust of reservoir dogs.

...the people who tried to kill her on her wedding day, organised by the groom, the assassination squad includes Michael Madsen, (who we see very little of), Lucy Liu, Vivica A. Advantages: Easy to follow Disadvantages: Typical Quentin Tarantino film
...It's a typical Quentin Tarantino, kill everybody film but is very enjoyable. It really makes you feel sorry for the main charcter and also makes you want to cheer at the end of the film. First thing I would say if you don't like Tarantino or Japanese action films then there is no point in watching the film as I don't think you would like it.
The film has an unusual layout which is one of the things I love about the film. And it jumps about in time only letting you know things when Tarantino want you to know them.
The music of the film is superb and fits in to the film ... ...than the other way about.
The story is had to explain but here goes the short and sweet version; woman get beat up and left for dead while pregnant and at her wedding, after waking up from a 4 year coma goes on a road of revenge, in this film she targets 2 of 5 of the people on her death list and thats the main story lines. I would go into any more detail as will spoil the little Tarantino touches.
One more thing the fight scenes are to die for ...

...Cut into 2 volumes, Kill Bill is the story of 'The Bride' (Uma Thurman) who is left for dead at her own wedding following a ruthless attack by her former gang, 'The he Deadly Vipers Assassination Squad', led by Bill (David Carradine). The Bride - who is left nameless in this film - emerges from a four year long coma and proceeds to get her revenge on the Squad - one by one.
