Review of Kickboxer (Wide Screen) by jonboy76

Advantages: Inspirational- easy watching
Disadvantages: cheesy- simple plot- but effective

Well where do I start with this film? This is one of those inspirational films like Karate kid that makes you want to get off the sofa and take up kickboxing or other martial arts or learn the splits. This film has a real basic but predictable story line - without ruining it too much you can guess the ending within the first ten minutes. The plot wait for it, if you don't want to see stop reading now; Is revenge- Vamme Dam's (Kurt Sloanne) brother ... Read review

Go on my son!
Review of Kickboxer (Wide Screen) by b4slapper

Advantages: Good fighting scenes
Disadvantages: Predictable story

What can I say about this film? Its an absolute Van Damme classic! Van Damme plays a brother out for revenge against the crazy fighter who crippled his brother. This film will never win any Oscars. The storyline is fairly predictable (as with many Van Damme films, but that’s not why we love them. Van Damme’s opponent is actually more amusing than scary looking (not that I d want to meet him in the ring) but they do put on a good fight ... Read review

Great film, not so great DVD
Review of Kickboxer (Wide Screen) by duoxy

Advantages: Good fighting / training scenes
Disadvantages: Predictable storyline, cheesy in parts

JCVD films are one of those things that you either love or hate. This is one of Van Damme's earlier films and arguably one of the most memorable. Beautifully shot, with a decent storyline (he gets revenge for his brother who has been crippled by the local kick boxing champion, of course) - but that's not the reason Van Damme fans watch his movies. It's the fighting and the training scenes, and this film's got them in abundance. Great stuff. The ... Read review

Quick review of Kickboxer (Wide Screen)
Review of Kickboxer (Wide Screen) by timetoearn

Really enjoyable film. One to definately see if you are a fan of Jaun Claude Van Damme. Admittedly parts of the film are cheesy but it is still worth watching non-the-less.

Kickboxer is an awesum fighting film, if you like van damme films you will love this one right here, everytime i watch it i get pumped up so much, its a really good film that has some good fight sences and some heart filled moments in it like when Van dammes brother gets injured very badly by Tong Po the Champion in thailand. Classic, absolute CLASSIC
Review of Kickboxer (Wide Screen) by his-name-is-alive

Advantages: Great Film
Disadvantages: lack of extra's

One of my favourite films of all time. Beautiful setting, great music, and also some deep themes, storyline wise, i dont want to ruin it for you, but the story line is that jean claude van damme's brother takes part in a kickboxing match in bancox and gets beaten up so badly, he may never be able to walk again. Van Damme seeks revenge and puts everything on the line. This film has action, romance, deep and spiritual music and also chessy music (when ... Read review
