...have seen anything quite like Jurassic Park before.
This time, they were right.
I have to say I was completely and utterly blown away by Jurassic Park the first time I saw it in the cinema. It was packed full of the sort of thrills that you would expect from a Steven Spielberg film. The man certainly knows his stuff and appears to have the ability of having the entire audience on the edge of it's seat - or maybe even under it - without even trying!

However, the problem is he needs to get endorsement from several reputable people - namely dinosaur expert, Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill), palaeobotanist, Dr. Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) and mathematician and chaos theorist, Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum). Hammond has grudgingly allowed his lawyer to be present too - so that he can show off his work and discover the full financial potential of this amazing place.

The basic premise of this movie is an island full of dinosaurs; I imagine that most people know that one way or another. The island is built like a theme park, and we (the audience) are shown around part of the park in the form of a tour, including how supposedly they bread dinosaurs from blood found ... ...disk 1°°°
~~~The Making of Jurassic Park - hosted by James Earl Jones
A 50-minute documentary about the making of Jurassic Park. JEJ explains how Spielberg wanted to create a movie that wasn't full of movie monsters, but instead realistic, credible, dinosaurs. The show also tries to justify the technique used in the movie to create the dinosaurs from blood in mosquitoes. There is a long segment about the making of full size dinosaur models, and ...
...long to review this film. Jurassic Park has been my favourite film ever since the first time i saw it! As far as i'm concerned nothing comes close to it in terms of my taste in movies. Everything about this film grabs me, enthrawls me, sucks me in and totally fills my heart with adventure!
...huge fan of the first Jurassic Park film, and always thought it could never be beaten in terms of its predecessors Jurassic Park 2 and 3. For me Jurassic Park signified what Steven Spielberg was always about, a brilliant director. Sure the story isn't an academy award criteria film, but the special effects, realism and guts to make a big blockbuster film certainly paid off. “Ah, yes, Dickie, old chap, got a bit of project you might be interested in, old man … not, it’s not a follow up to Gandhi and no you don’t have to play a spiv … what’s that, old chap? … well, Spielberg’s involved and we’ve got a couple of decent young actors up for it, Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum. ...the first time they saw Jurassic Park. It was the first movie that really exploited CGI effects to the maximum by creating living breathing creatures on screen. Add to that a really good story and some very tense moments and it's easy to see why this is one of the biggest films of all time. Advantages: Mightily impressive special effects Disadvantages: Weak story, screenplay, acting
On a recent visit to the cinema, I noticed a poster for 'Jurassic Park III' which will be released in the UK this summer. I thought now was as good a time as any to voice my opinions on its predecessors 'Jurassic Park' and 'The Lost World', especially as my assessment of the two films is different to virtually every other reviewer! After the critical mauling of 'Hook', Spielberg was back to his best. The special effects were going to take your breath away. 'Don't miss it' spoke the majority of reviews.
This ecstasy certainly seemed to be shared by the majority of punters. As I left the cinema, I overheard lots of people talking about what a wonderful cinematic experience they had just had. I wished I could have agreed with them. I wanted to ...
...my money as good as Jurassic Park if not better. There, I’ve said it, let the flaming begin.
I settled down last night for a relaxed night with a take away, a bottle of wine and a no-brainer dvd to watch, my girlfriend picked The Lost World, and who am I to argue – it is Spielberg after all. Down went the lights up went the surround sound and back we settled to re-watch this movie.
Whereas Jurassic Park was more suspenseful, The Lost World is far more of an action film, and despite the slow first act, the pace never lets down once it starts. It’s a little too cutesy, and you kind of get the feeling that Dr. Malcolm’s daughter was just thrown in to add fluff to the story. Performances are fine, even if Goldblum seems to play the same irreverent character that he did in Independence day. Pete ...
Advantages: Cracking adventure with superb SFX that still holds up today Disadvantages: Not enough dinosuars!!!
With Jurassic Park 3 being released soon I thought I would dust off my JP DVD (well, I say dust off, but it’s not that old!) and watch it again.
Quite simply I love this film. Although it is not my favourite film of all time (in the top twenty) it is the one that I have watched the most (at least fifteen times, please don’t judge me on that!). I think most guys have an inbuilt genetic love of Dinosuars, they fascinate us as a child and ... ...Walking With Dinosaurs…very popular). We’ve never been able to see real dinosaurs. There have been movies in the past (which is where JP is now, being 8 years old…it was 1993 right?) that have shown dinosaurs but they have been laughable (in terms of realism) at best. JP rocked our world.
I don’t think anyone was prepared for the amazing special effects, which still hold up today. JP pushed the boat out of SFX further than ...
I saw this film on it’s release based on the spcial effects that, for their time, were simply stunning. It’s quite an interesting story really, summed up beautifully by Jeff Goldblums character in the film: God creates dinosaur, god kills dinosaur, god creates man, man kills god, man creates dinosaur, dinosaur eat’s man. Forgive me if I’ve misquoted, but you get the idea. What Spielberg gives us is some decent acting from Sam Neill and Goldblum and ...
First released in 1993, Jurassic Park was one of Steven Spielberg’s most famous films. It was adapted from a book (which I have also read) by Michael Crichton and spawned 2 sequels so far. ------------------
The Story
Biological research and cloning has become something of a costly but financially rewarding venture for corporations. John Williams (who composed the starwars soundtracks) has done another good job. -------------------------
Special Effects
This film allowed the development of both animatronics and computer animated effects. ILM pushed the boundaries and managed to produce some stunning effects.
...beautifully in a box set. Jurassic Park is one of Steven Spielbergs finest movies as well as being a huge worldwide success. This film is, at the present date, 8 years old, but it doesn't show at all. I watched it on video just the other day, and the special effects are comparable to any seen in films today.
