Advantages: Fun, Adventure, Cute Fish and an Even Cuter Male Lead. Disadvantages: Drags a Bit.
Into the Blue came out at the cinemas and as usual I really wanted to go and see it (as I do with every new film that ever comes out) and as usual everybody around me started saying that it looked rubbish and they wouldn't come. So as usual when it comes to films I had to wait until I could see it on video which I did finally last night. As you can see from my rating of four stars I thought it was quite good but there was definitely room for improvement ... ...nothing else but to get into the ocean and explore. The scenery and sets are still amazing and you really want to be friends with these people so you can live their lives, it also wouldn't hurt to look like these people as they are all very good looking.
While the four of them are out diving one day, Jared spots a rock that he recognizes being from a ship. Soon they are all searching the ocean floor and finding bits of ships and more interestingly ...

...Amanda and Bryce taken matters into their own hands by negotiating with a dangerous drug lord. But once the drug lord and his men know where the drugs are, all four are in danger of losing their lives. Will they be able to stay long enough to uncover the hidden treasure? Or have they bitten off more than they can chew?
Jessica Alba is probably the draw that attracts most people to this film. She spends a lot of time in skimpy bikinis and does look ... ...than that. As Sam, she gives a very convincing performance as the sensible one of the group. She is well aware of the consequences of becoming involved with drugs and it is only after immense pressure that she gives in. Whereas this was hardly the performance of a life-time, it is a solid one and I think she more than proved she is capable when it comes to acting. She certainly knocked the spots off co-star Ashley Scott (Amanda), although, to be ...

...a deal over lunch!"
Into The Blue is one of those movies that exist purely on a concept that sex will sell to the teen crowd. Guys will see Jessica Alba in the trailer wearing a bikini and want to buy a ticket. Girls will see Paul Walker a bit buff and flashing his pearly whites and slap down their money on the counter. It doesn't matter if the movie has a good story, by the time you're in the theatre; the job of the studio is done.
Jared (Paul ... ...friend Bryce (Scott Caan) rolls into town with a new gal in tow. Amanda (Ashley Scott) is also hot but a little bit off the rails. The lot of them go diving and discover some treasure potentially worth millions of dollars. But they also find a plane with a huge stash of cocaine in the hull. The movie spends a lot of time swimming beneath the water before the drug dealers turn up and want to know where their plane and stash is. Cue much dumbness, ...

...I don't think so and Into The Blue is full of all four of those S's, as the trailer neatly highlights. For the women to gaze at there is Paul Walker (Fast and The Furious) & Scott Caan (Ocean's Eleven) and for the men there is Jessica Alba (Fantastic Four) and Ashley Scott (Birds of Prey TV series)

Discovering the plane causes no end pf problems for the quartet, they want to try and uncover the shipwreck but don't have the money to hire the specialist equipment they really need to help them find the right spot to dig. The drugs are worth millions and just recovering a selling a couple of the packages would give them all the money they need. They should report ...

Advantages: Nice underwater photography Disadvantages: Poor performances, a lack of depth and dodgy script
...in tone and the diversion into ropey thriller territory doesn't help things. Towards the end of the film Stockwell seems in a hurry to tie up all the loose ends, so we get a succession of hastily stapled together action sequences (grisly deaths, explosions and lots of swimming) and Nancy Drew revelations that are both too quick and too obvious to have any real effect. Stockwell can't even make sharks feel scary. Then there's an ending that decides ... ...nothing to get your teeth into as a member of the cast or audience; there aren't even any sharp one-liners and the relationships between characters are as poorly sketched as they come. The pacing is very odd for an action film because it starts off slowly but in the time normally reserved for character development, we only get a smattering of dialogue and a lot of marine photography, which is very pretty but does little other than act as free advertising ...

The movie has a lot about temptation in it. What you would do when faced ...

I saw this film at the cinema and i was not dissappointed once again Paul Walker who in my opinion in so sexy, did a great job in this film.
This film is about Jared played by Paul Walker who loves diving and as he lives in the Bahamas this is something that is great to do and the scenery in the film is fantastic. Jared has dreams of finding treasure on the sea bed. Jared's girlfriend Sam played by Jessica also loves diving but loves the life that ... ...down to the simple life with him.
One day when they are diving they find items from a 19th century pirate ship, although that is not all they find they also find a plane which is full of drugs.
Obviously the owner of these drugs is looking for them too and will obviously stop at nothing to get them back. Although Jared and Sam are more interested in getting the Zephr remains out of the ocean to make their millions.
So with lot of fight scenes ...

Advantages: great locations Disadvantages: weak acting & plot
Right, firstly I want to let you all know this a review of the DVD version of the film after having seen "The Making Of" and the deleted scenes. I don't know if this or Fantastic 4 was made first but whichever was made first, the director obviously saw Jessica Alba in a tight outfit and thought "I can use that in my movie" Jessica Alba does look pretty but she also looks about 13 years old. Paul Walker is a new face to me and I've never seen him ... ...(Rollerball) Caan's son? Ashley Scott is also very pretty and plays her part well and you know she's going to be the weak link in the chain of close friends as the girl he's known for only 14 hours.
Take the films The Deep, Jaws & Deep Blue Sea and combine them all with The Bahama's, Drugs, Treasure and Betrayal. The cute looking guy and his girl are down on their luck after he looses his job (by the way, the deleted scene of him saving the boy ...

Advantages: Yeah to the stars; Disadvantages: no, no to the plot
This movie is based on the 1977 film The Deep: Four divers (Jessica Alba, Paul Walker, Scott Caan and Ashley Scott) find a legendary shipwreck that is rumoured to contain hundreds of millions in gold, but don't have the money to invest in the right equipment to make it theirs. At the same time, they also find a downed plane laden with cocaine buried in the deep blue sea. When they try to sell the cocaine to earn enough money so they can excavate ... ...everything goes wrong...
Hell, yeah, that's a movie. Stunning settings, stunning bodies, but don't lose your interest after you realize that nobody can actually stay under water for more than 3 minutes. I mean, not even fit Paul Walker and that gorgeous body of his. The same applies to Jessica Alba, gentlemen.
The point I'm trying to make here is, the film is great in the sense that it really gets you to unwind and forget the sad grey weather out ...

Advantages: Easy Watching, Fun, Disadvantages: Paul Walker can't act, some of the scenes are a little far fetched
This was a film that i wasn't to bothered about going to the cinema to see. After you've seen some of Paul Walker's other films you start to get a bit sceptical. He does play the California Surfer "Dude" again, like he does in any other film "Fast and the Furious, Timeline" and it does have some of his cringe worthy phrases "Calm down Bro!", if you can bare to get past his acting the film is good easy watching and fun. Jessica Alba is gorgeous and ... ...the pain out of PW's acting. Some of the under (well all of them really) are fantastic, they really look the part and really make the film. The only thing i have against it is knowing abit about scuba diving and the fact that you can't swim that fast and far and stay under the water without breathing equipment by a HELL of a long way. Other than that its a well worth a go and definately worth watching with a beer and a curry on saturday night ...
