Brad Bird is the Director and Screenwriter for this fantastic Action/Adventure film. Some of his previous work includes, The Iron Giant, Toy Story, Finding Nemo and Monsters inc. The basic premise follows the story of a dysfunctional family of retired superheroes living in suburbia under the witness protection program, in an effort to hide from their supervillain counterparts. Now known ... ...his wife Helen, formerly Elastigirl, and their three children Violet, Dash, and Jack Jack.
Bob Parr used to be one of the world's greatest superheroes (known as "Mr. Incredible"), saving lives and fighting evil on a daily basis. Another great film from the Disney/Pixar studio. Thoroughly enjoyable, excelent animation with a storyline suitable for a family audience.
The background plot goes like this:
Mr Incredibe and Elastagirl are two superheroes working to save the planet and keep the people safe. Mr Incredible is your typical male superhero with strength and speed. Elastagirl is well elastic! Not hard to work that one out. She can stretch as you would expect but also ... ...get married and then disaster strikes. A lawsuit is filed against Mr Incredible for saving a suicide victim who didn't want to be saved. More suits follow and all superheroes are forced to live in protection programmes.
15 years, a crappy job and 3 kids later and the Incredibles are born. The kids being Violet, Dash and Jack Jack. Mr Incredibles nemesis and one time biggest fan 'Incredaboy' forces him out of retirement and the rest of the family ...

Advantages: Can CG animation really get any better? Disadvantages: Some may be put off by its very mature dialogue
Disney/ Pixar's 'The Incredibles', is a visually outstanding film, that presents Computer Generated animation at its most exciting. Yet, unlike similar CG films such as Toy Story and Monster's Inc, 'The Incredibles' has a very grown up narrative...which at times may be too grown up for children.
In brief, the film concentrates on Bob Parr and his wife Helen (who were once heroic world-renowned crime fighters with special powers) and their three ... ...to use them) living in the suburbs following Bob and Helen's 'retirement' from their superhero work. Without giving too much of the plot away, Bob and Helen are soon forced to abandon their 'normal' identities and regain their superhero roles in a war against evil... which requires a little help from their oldest kids Violet and Dash.
The characters look great (not like your typical perfect looking Disney characters), sound great (voices include ...

Advantages: Fun movie for big and small kids Disadvantages: They don't sell the costumes in adult sizes!
I loved the Toy Stories and Shreks but was less impressed with the fishy offerings of Finding Nemo and Shark Tale. I know they're not all from the same studio and I'm a bit concerned that all the movies I've seen recently have been 'cartoons' but this got very good reviews from some 'grown up' newspapers so we decided to go last Sunday afternoon. The basic premise of this movie is that Mr Incredible, his wife (aka Elastigirl) and their fellow superheroes ... ...start suing them for injuries received during heroic rescues. The government gets fed up of paying compensation and forces them all to live 'normal' lives. Mr Incredible find this particularly hard, so he jumps at the chance to put on his supersuit and use his powers again and unwittingly gets all his family, incredikids included, involved. I don't want to say too much more. Holly Hunter and Samuel L Jackson provide two of the voices, Mr Incredible ...

Advantages: Makes you laugh so hard your stomach hurts Disadvantages: Predictable
The incredibles is now officially my favourite computer animated film ever, this has overtaken Shrek (and we all know what a classic that is). This film with its highly enjoyable characters appeals to all ages. The finer details and sutbtelties can be enjoyed by the older audiences, Look for the facial expressions of dash and the detail that has gone into the jokes that take place in the background. Whilst this is going on a plot that even young ... ...nice twists and turns and i must say that i was on the edge of my seat with laughter and excitement. a truly remarkable feat of time, thought and ingenuity.
A film that will become classic and should be part of everyones DVD family. The purchase of this film will not be regretted!!! ...

Advantages: Entertaining when you need a break from workloads Disadvantages: None
This is another blockbuster animation by our all time favourite, Pixar. The story begins where citizens banned the idea of having superheros around for daily crisis, but Bob Parr( Mr Incredible) often sneaks out with mate,Lucius Best (Frozone) to try save people when there's a need for help annonymously.Unfortunately, it has always been a disaster .Stuck in rut with a crappy job under a crappy boss, Bob Parr, was then secretly assigned a job to be ... ...know, his new underground job which no one knows about, until his wife found out soon ,had placed his family in danger.
This forced The Incredibles family to return from their retirement to solve the mystery and save themselves and the world from the next biggest crisis. The movie depicts modern life we lived in today with witty and funny humour plus an overall good quality of animation. It's yet another great animation of Pixar that suits viewers ...

Advantages: High powered entertainment for the family Disadvantages: It ends in 2 hours
I had seen all those ads and trailers every time I went to a movie in the cinema. I used to think, Ok, let me try and make it sometime next time.
Last sunday, I finally made up my mind and went off to the cinema hall just because I had nothing better to do at home watching the boring television.
And was it worth it ? Believe me, it's worth every penny.
I was amazed by the creativity that has gone into making this film. It's fun all the way - beginning ... ...story - it's all about a scientific genius, who happens to be a fan of the super hero Mr.Incredible, who becomes an enemy of his own idol. The reason being, Mr.Incredible solves the problems of the world on his own and doesn't need the assistance of the scientific genius.
The turn of events involves the whole Incredibles family and pulls them out of hibernation.
I would not like to say anymore on the story. You'll miss the fun. I recommend that ...

Advantages: some genuinely funny moments Disadvantages: high competition
This was bound to be popular, from the creators of toy story and monsters inc comes the incredibles.
This is the first time out for the movies producer and comes in high quality, using effects not seen in movies before.
It just didn't hit the right spot for me, I think had I have seen this before the likes of finding nemo and shrek I would have been awestruck but it just didn't have the same impact on me.
The script is a little different and has ... ...they just aren't as consistent as its counterparts.
It features Three primary, out of action superheros, who long for the good old days. When the oportunity of a comeback is opened up to one of them, he just cannot resist the temptation to get involved, leaving behind his former super-heroine wife and super-powered kids at home, but sinister hands are at work. The plot is rather dry, but does keep you on your toes, but with all the latest marvel ...

Advantages: Great fun, lots of extras Disadvantages: None
It ain't easy being a superhero; just ask the Incredibles. Not only is there all that world-saving to be done, but these days the public aren't just stupid or helplesss - they're litigious, too. So the former Mr Incredible, his wife Elsatigirl (voiced by Holly Hunter) and their three equally unusual children are hiding out in pseudo-1950s suburban hell, trying to pretend they're normal. At least until a suitably evil baddy comes along... Director ... ...Pixar animation studio one of their biggest successes yet. The DVD extras are also incredible including two shorts, extensive commentary and enough'making of' material to render thorough viewers practically capable of making their own cartoon by the end. Advantages: best pixar film since toy story 2, great characters, effects and more!!!! Disadvantages: Bad guy not bad enough !!!!
Really good movie, a breath of fresh air compared to all the serious movies out, overall - comedic, funny, great screenplay and a great movie to see young or old!!!!
Sticks to the story and does not waver into different plots.

Advantages: Peace for Parents 'A Small but Excellent Investment!' Disadvantages: Not on for 'Long Enough!'
Another 'Pixar' production that is worth its weight in gold!
The makers of 'Monsters Inc & Toy Story,’ shall be 'Praised' once again, by relieved Parents -as their contented kiddies will sit and watch this film until the credits roll!
Pixar make the type of films, Kiddies will watch over and over.

I must admit, I thoroughly enjoyed watching 'The Incredibles' myself! You could say; It was a 'bonding session,' between Mother and Daughter.

Advantages: Funny both for adults and children alike, great characterisation and plot, another Pixar classic Disadvantages: Maybe a little less engaging for younger viewers than previous Pixar films, and jokes aimed more for older audience than in Toy Story or other Pixar outings.
Once again Pixar has produced a film which is both gorgeous to watch, showing amazing attention to detail and just how far ahead they are in the CGI animation market, as well as engaging characters and plotline. The jokes are more mature this time, but the characters, especially Jack-Jack and Dash will appeal equally to children and adults alike.
Some younger children may find the pace of the film slower than Finding Nemo or Toy Story, but this ...

I went to see this with my boyfriend last week and loved it! It's definitely suitable for any age group and if I had a family or younger sibling I wouldn't hesitate to reccomend it to them. Advantages: A lot of money was spent on it Disadvantages: Not in the same class as older Disney films
I love Disney. I have grown up with Disney, and so eagerly anticipated the release of this film. However, I was dissappointed. I found the film took a while to get any real story going, and when it did, the stories it told, were all mini- episodes -they just weren't held together properley, to sustain interest and undertsandability. For an adult to think this, I can only imagine it must be harder for a young child.
On a positive note, there were ... ...hearted feeling kept me going all of the way through the film - if it wasn'tfor these occasional breaks of humour -i couldn't have wathed the rest of it to be honest. This is no Toy Story, by a long shot - just a lot of Disny and Pixar hype has made people expect it to be as good as Toy Story. Maybe I'm just old fashioned - I know times are changing, and I am all for a technological revolution, but I just wish Disny made films like they used to. ...
