...I have but this is in the same league. I'm also not too sure about the certificate on this film, I would have said it was a 15 because there wasn't much in the film that I would consider I couldn't watch, for me and 18 has to be very, very gory and things like that but I think this film was wrongly certified. ==The Cast== There is only one cast member that I thought did a very good job within this film and that is Brendan Gleesan whose acting was ... ...come across cute and vulnerable in places, acts like he's completely high on drugs and booze, and you sit through the whole film going, what the hell. The final cast member who is not really worth mentioning but it might be the reason some people watch this, is Ralph Fiennes who is just crap and awful, his voice annoyed me, and it just came across stupid as hell. ==Negatives== Colin Farrell was awful, when I watched him on Jonathan Ross I believe ...

Advantages: Imaginative story, fantastic dialogue - will make you both laugh and cry! Disadvantages: A bit of a dark film for some - will not cheer you up!
In Bruges I had heard this film talked about plenty in the last few months, but haven't had a chance to rent it yet. Then it came on Sky Anytime and I got the chance to see what everyone was raving about... I am a big fan of Pulp Fiction and Tarantino films and whilst the violence is not on this level, there are similarities with depicting atrocities against a background of quick witted dialogue and matter of fact delivery of lines. 'In Bruges' though ... ...been sent to hide out in Bruges, after a hit went wrong. They are instructed to go to a hotel and wait there for further instructions. The elder of the two, is reasonable content to do this and take in a little of the local culture. The younger (Colin Farrell) is not. He can't understand why they have to go go to this place and wants to return home to hide out until the dust settles. Whilst they are in Bruges there are flashbacks to what went wrong ...

"It's in Belgium."
The above is part of the opening voice over of this rather strange little film - so if you're at all offended, this is definitely NOT the movie for you: oodles of swearing, about as un-politically correct as possible, and subject matter including murder, sex, drugs and midgets. I mean dwarfs!
Personally, none of that bothered me - it's all done with such humour, and is so equally offensive across a rather wide spectrum, ... ...Certainly not something rather deep in part, something with a fair amount of emotion and explorations of the human psyche. Thank f*@! there's plenty of laughing about fat people along the way, eh?! ;)
The film starts after a hit has gone wrong, and the two hitmen involved (Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson) are sent to lay low for a couple of weeks in Bruges. The introduction comes in the form of several tourist-poster shots of the city and an irreverent ...

All in all, this doesn't sound like the most action packed film you've ever seen, and those looking for thrills and spills and car chases would be advised to steer clear. ...bloody hell is Bruges?
In Bruges is a 2008 comedy staring Colin Farrell (phrowaaaa) and Brendan Gleeson. When I read it was a comedy I was interested to see it because I think Colin Farrell is quite funny anyway so I thought it would be quite good,. I didn’t know much about the plot but as it also got an award I had high hopes.
Well, it’s probably best described as a dark comedy. It sort of reminded me of a Lock, Stock type funny film with the ... ...redemption and it’s done well. In my opinion you do get to see some real emotion from the main stars and that they are really thinking about where they find themselves in their life. I didn’t love this movie though because I thought it was quite slow and not really the most interesting storyline ever. The basic plot of the movie goes like this. Farrell (Ray) and Gleeson (Ken) are hitmen. Ray’s first job with Ken, his senior, does not go well and ...

It is, however, set in a wintry Bruges, which provides a beautiful backdrop witout ever overshadowing the story or the characters themselves. There is no need for expensive effects, car chases or CGI. The story is character-driven, reveals itself over time, and takes you down a couple of unexpecetd avenues.

...of the best films made in 2008, In Bruges seems to have slipped under the radar a little bit; a low budget film debut by playwright Martin McDonagh set almost entirely in the beautiful city of Bruges, it isn't difficult to see why. Namely, the humour involved is often so bleak as to wander into dramatic territory, as it follows a pair of hitmen as they lie-low in Bruges after a botched hit. Despite featuring most of the cast of Harry Potter, In Bruges ... ...in the hundreds; more often than not, from Colin Farrell who displays in admirable fashion that he actually can act, really rather well, despite what people have been late to believe in recent years. Not only this but I found myself thinking "I could listen to him talk for days..." as his lilting Irish accent began dropping one-liners with charm and wit, and it took the appearance of Chloe, seductive drug dealer, to steer me away from a violent and ...

In bruges was nothing like I was expecting. Now i think about it, i don't really know what i was expecting but not what i got. This, however, is not a bad thing. In Bruges is hilarious, or at least i thought it was. Yet the humour is quite dark, but it is by no means a black comedy, not in the usual sense anyway. The story revolves around two hitmen, who, after a botched "job" in London are sent the to the picturesque town of Bruges (Belguim) to ... ...it all and had me in stiches for most of it, but that might just be my twisted sense of humour. ...As we learn, Farrell isn’t in the best of minds as he’s only done one job before which resulted in him accidentally killing a little boy. This gives his character more depth and you start to see him as quite childlike despite the fact that he’s a trained killer.

Stars - Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson
Plot - Two hitmen Ken(Gleeson) and Ray(Farrell) are sent by the Boss, Harry to Bruges after their last hit.
