Story
Well, you’ll never guess when this film is set! That’s right, in the Ice Age! Well, this first film is set right at the start. All the animals are migrating to better ground, except for a mammoth called Manfred or Manny, who seems to be going the wrong way. He then meets ... ...with two angry rhinos, and helps him out. Unfortunately, he didn’t bank on Sid then deciding to make him his personal bodyguard and follow him around everywhere! Then the two find a baby, that a sabre-toothed tiger, called Diego is trying to claim as his own, and they decide to return the baby to its people, with the tiger guiding them. But can they trust Diego?
I love the way this film mixes in all the different animals that surely would never ...

Ice Age is a computer animated feature length film not too dissimilar from the likes of Toy Story, A Bug’s Life, Shrek and Monsters Inc.

The movie is set at the beginning of the ice age when all of the Earth’s animals are heading for warmer pastures, all except Manfred, a huge woolly mammoth who simply wants to be on his own.

...haven't, you'll have heard of Ice Age. It's the animated children's comedy from a few years ago, set in the chilly world of - yep, you've guessed it - the ice age. It went on to spawn a sequel, Ice Age 2: The Meltdown, which was released last year, but the general consensus was that it's not as good as the original. It must be pretty bad then.

Saying that, there were still a few scenes in this film that I found quite funny. Ray Romano's grumpy voicing of Manni was a treat; he had plenty of pithy one-liners, and prevented it all from becoming too unbearably happy. There were also some entertaining set-pieces, including the bit with the dodos and their three melons (again, an ...

...am writing an opinion about: Ice Age. Who would have though such a simple story and simple setting would have captured so many people’s hearts?

...time thinking about it!
Ice Age is a fun movie and you should go see it. Is that it? Bit of an anti-climax, ain’t it? Which, thankfully, the film itself is most definitely not. You see, it’s not from Disney or even their main competitors these days, Dreamworks, but from a comparatively new animation studio, Blue Sky Studios and also Fox animation, who together previously brought you Titan A.E. So, no hype, no expectations, just a very ... ...scale, the power of the ice shifting coming over very well on screen. It is well paced with lots of laughs and action and it keeps adults and kids alike entertained from beginning to end. (And it doesn’t outstay its welcome.) With plenty of family friendly films to come this summer this is a great start and I heartily recommend it. It looks like Disney and Dreamworks have a new challenger on the block! ...

This is one of the best animated films I have ever seen apart from Toy Story films and Shrek. ...Hello - Hang on , Ice Age , now there's one I've not seen before .
I have read a couple of mixed reviews about this film recently . Now being an overgrown child of 54 I think I'll give this a whirl .

I like the story line that this film follows as it has a kind of moral tale that runs right the way through it, which teaches the little ones without them even realising it.
