Advantages: Will Smith with his shirt off! Disadvantages: Dull, lifeless and pointless
I Am Legend is a the huge blockbuster film starring the one and only yep, you guessed it Will Smith! This film was released surrounded by a huge bubble of hype and in my opinion this film was so over hyped that the only thing people were likely to feel about I Am Legend was disappointment. I Am Legend was made on a huge budget of $150,000,000 and despite my own preconception I Am Legend (unsurprisingly) managed to gross an estimated $585,349,010.

Advantages: Good film, could be better tho! Disadvantages: Rubbish CGI, poor ending!
I Am Legend was released in 2007, and directed by Francis Lawrence, a relative newcomer to the directing business, who's only other piece of work worth mentioning was Constantine. The movie is based on a 1954 novel by Richard Matheson, which has been adapted for the silver screen twice before, as The Last Man on Earth in 1964, and as The Omega Man in 1971. The movie stars Will Smith in the lead role, and also features his daughter, Willow Smith, in ...

Having exhausted every other way I could think possible to escape actually having to tidy (yep, EVERY way) I glanced at the pile. On the top was a film I've been trying to avoid just as much as the cleaning. After a few short moments (that felt like a lifetime of deciding) I finally convinced myself that I would just have to do it. The movie I mean. Well, I'll be damned if I am ...

Advantages: Stark portrayal of the madness of loneliness and terror Disadvantages: A bit slow, fails to take the risks of not being quite so mainstream
I Am Legend opens with a news report: It's 2009, and - without as much fanfare as you'd expect - Emma Thomson calmly announces they've created a cure for cancer. Every human trial has been successful; a genetic re-engineering of the measles virus has eliminated mankind's biggest health fear.
Fast forward 3 years, and it has eliminated mankind.
Almost. Robert Neville (Will Smith) is the sole survivor in a desolate, ground-zero New York. A virologist ...

Advantages: Some good moments of suspense. Good scene setting. Disadvantages: Lost it's story to some daft horror scenes.
...in the usual pattern that I was expecting. I enjoy watching end of the world type scenario's like The Day After Tomorrow or Independence Day - big action films, when humanity pulls together to save the world. However, although the film does centre on disease killing off the population, here the similarity ends.
The 15 certificate is a clue that this is not family entertainment and the film is a lot darker than the aforementioned films.
The main ...

Legendary Review ofI Am Legend (DVD)by

Advantages: Great film, very cheap when I bought it, Will Smith, not too scary Disadvantages: None for me
Since I am home from University for a few days, my parents sent me to town the other day to buy the new series of House, as we are all obsessed with it and watch it together. Unfortunately, since the closure of Zavvi and Woolworths, there is only one shop in Newcastle that seems to sell House, and that is HMV. This normally wouldn't be a problem, since I buy most of my CDs and DVDs from this store anyway, but on this occasion it was highly annoying, ...

I am Legend
My husband and I bought this DVD at Sainsbury's last week for £9.79 as I have really wanted to see it ever since it came out in the cinema as I had heard good things about it, e.g. it is scary and intelligent and makes you jump.
Well after watching it I can't decided whether I liked it or not and I'm still not sure about it. The same for my husband and a few people I have talked to about it, they all kind of say, hum, not sure, couldn't ...

I am Legend was the 2007; sci- fi horror adapted from the 1954 Francis Lawrence, and a remake of the classic The Omega Man. The film starred Will Smith, in what was to be his first horror film. Opening in late 2007, the film grossed well over $500 million worldwide.
Having heard mixed reactions to the film I figured I had to watch it for myself to see what all the fuss was about, having not see the Omega Man, I am Legend was a totally new film for ...

It was first seen on the big screen in 1964's "The Last Man On Earth", and then again in 1971's "Omega Man". Usually I choose movies I want to see inspired by trailers on tv. Lately I don't watch it so often and I didn't choose to see I am Legend .
Although the trailer was really engaging, my father was waiting for this film and he persuaded me to watch it.
This kind of film is surely to my liking and I admit I really like the protagonist, Will Smith.

I Am Legend (2007)
[film only]
The sound of the alarm clock that rang several times in the film actually managed to keep me awake, or at least to awake me when I dozed off. The film is based on the idea that a certain virus, created by human beings as usual, attacked the earth, and the vast majority of people were killed. The military virologist Robert Neville [Will Smith] believes that he is the only person left alive, but he never loses hope. ...

I finally gave in and watched this movie last night. When I first saw the trailers I thought it looked amazing, then the trailers were changed and I was suprised to see that this film had "zombies" in it, or so it seemed. Okay so being a girly girl watching zombie films is far from my idea of fun. Promptly decided this film is not for me.
Until one of my friends assured me this was not a zombie film, not at all. I should definately watch.
