Come and See What All the Fuzz is About
Review of Hot Fuzz (DVD) by Soho_Black

Advantages: The attention to detail in parts
Disadvantages: Not as laugh a minute as some comedy films

The problem with putting out a decent debut; be it film, book or music; is that everyone expects your next effort to be better or at least equal in quality. Sometimes, in producing something wonderful first time out, it's like one-upmanship, except that the person you're effectively saying "Ha! Top THAT!" to is yourself. Such was the problem facing Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright after their debut feature film "Shaun of the Dead" was such a success. Into ... Read review

Pegg. Frost. They're bad boys with a vengeance!
Review of Hot Fuzz (DVD) by l-m-n-o-p

Advantages: It's action-packed, hilarious and immensely entertaining
Disadvantages: Has too many endings!

If you haven't heard of Hot Fuzz, you must have been living under a rock for the last month. Or, at least, not watching TV at all. Simon Pegg, and to a lesser extent Nick Frost and Edgar Wright, have been mercilessly plugging this film on every single TV opportunity possible, as well as doing a series of signings up and down the country! Film 2007, the Culture Show, even Top Gear and the Baftas - none were safe from their promotional chit chat. Being ... Read review

My My, Here Come The Fuzz
Review of Hot Fuzz (DVD) by Andy.mack

Advantages: Excellent script, direction and performances
Disadvantages: None at all

...that when the adverts for Hot Fuzz came on at the cinema that I'd want to see that as well. Pegg was once again teaming up with Edgar Wright, the other brain behind Shaun Of The Dead and Spaced to create another British comedy. The problem with the adverts was whether they were showing all the comedy from the movie, as is usually the case, but there was only one way to find out. Go and see it. Pegg takes the role of Sergeant Nicholas Angel, one ... Read review

MAY THE FUZZ BE WITH YOU!!!
Review of Hot Fuzz (DVD) by ultrafrosty

Advantages: Superb and very funny comedy!
Disadvantages: Pegg, Frost & Wright have set their own bar higher now!

...a review on the movie HOT FUZZ. The latest collaboration from Simon Pegg, Nice Frost and Edgar Wright. Now, if you have no idea who any of these guys are, I'd suggest you've either been living with your head in the sand or you have no idea who or what is funny in British comedy these days. You might want to stop reading if you believe the pulse of British comedy is Keeping Up Appearances or something along those lines… -------------------------------------------------- BACKGROUND ... Review of Hot Fuzz (DVD) by beckywright

Advantages: Top quality viewing
Disadvantages: All over too quickly!

...obvious references to other films, Hot Fuzz uses direct shots from films such as The Shining, Kill Bill and The Omen (amongst others) which add to the cultural richness of this film. When watching it, which you've got to do, look out for these! Or, if you think that's a little bit sad, you could just watch it. ****What other people think**** If you think I sound overly biased (due to my love of British film), it only takes the cracking £7.1 ... Review of Hot Fuzz (DVD) by JeffFromPoole

Advantages: Hilarious, Cast of thousands, Great production
Disadvantages: It finished and I had to go to bed

Judge Judy & Executioner!
Review of Hot Fuzz (DVD) by NewYork2006

Advantages: Brilliantly funny, great action scenes
Disadvantages: None

...these) I originally went to see Hot Fuzz at the cinema with The Boyfriend – purely because the ‘chick flick’ I had wanted to see was sold out and The Boyfriend was practically wetting himself with excitement at the thought of seeing this film so I gave in – and I loved it! I know I’ve thoroughly enjoyed a film when I’ve come out of the cinema and spent ages talking about it with whoever I’ve gone to see it with and saying ‘the so and so bit was ... Read review

Hot Fuzz
Review of Hot Fuzz (DVD) by Helenofellon

Advantages: A Great British Comedy
Disadvantages: None

Hot Fuzz is a brilliantly funny British Film. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this film at the cinema when it was first released and were delighted to find that our daughter has purchased the DVD. The film, to me, brought back memories of “The Full Monty” in that it is a hilarious British Comedy with many recognised and excellent actors, like Edward Woodward, Timothy Dalton, Bill Nighy, and Anne Reid. The film stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost of ... Read review

Shorn of the jokes?
Review of Hot Fuzz (DVD) by SweeneyTed

Advantages: At least they're still working...
Disadvantages: But they seem to have stopped making comedies...

...else is going mental for Hot Fuzz, and I can see why people might be over-generous; there's a lot of goodwilll out there for the Spaced cast and crew, and justifiably so. Spaced was a genuinely charming, innovative and well-constructed bit of kit. Shaun Of The Dead, which Hot Fuzz is inevitably going to be compared with, was a canny extension of the TV show, and played very much to their strengths - quirky, knowing humour, a strong, if not earth-shatteringly ... This film is a great laugh. Simon Pegg is a legend. Take the time to go through the features on the disk - especially the subtitles by the directors!

Hot Fuzz- Great film highly reccomended
Review of Hot Fuzz (DVD) by Cheesychip1

Advantages: Great film and good features.
Disadvantages: Few if any.

This is a great DVD with yet another hilarious preformance from Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Also known for their parody of dawn of the dead "sawn of the dead". They have done it again with this high hitting comedy. The film is about a very able police officer in london that is sent away to a small peaceful village in the middle of nowhere. But is it so peaceful? Nicholas Angel (Simon Pegg) doesnt think so. Some violent graphic scenes and language. This ... Read review

Hot Fuzz - Entertaining and under-rated
Review of Hot Fuzz (DVD) by dangaroo

Advantages: It's funny and different from most films.. which is ideal for a comedy
Disadvantages: Might not catch on abroad

I liked this film a lot, it's a quality spoof of an American blockbuster style film. The village and the local behaviour of the villagers has a somewhat Midsomer Murder feel to it. I find that you get an immediate insight into the characters and they become like family friends from the start! As some other reviews may have mentioned, it's not non-stop laughter like some other films and does build up like an episode of a murder mystery series sometimes ... Read review

...training for his role in Hot Fuzz but I am curious what training was needed to play Danny Butterman.. (probably a few months at the local). Danny cracks me up as the character who constantly says the wrong thing at, you guessed it, the wrong time; who's answer to most of lifes mysteries is found in double print at the bottom of a pint of lager; and the wide eyed awe as he hero worships Angel (To Angel as he presents a serious rendition of what ... Review of Hot Fuzz (DVD) by grendalion

Advantages: very funny
Disadvantages: the ending drags on

THE FILM IN A NUTSHELL! Top city police officer Nicholas Angel is reassigned to a small village because he is outshowing all the other officers in London. At first he struggles because its a crime free village and he gets stuck with a oafish partner, but as some gruesome deaths take place he refuses to believe that they are accidents and so searches for a link between all of the deaths. Its not long before his partner danny's dreams of high speed ... Read review
