In Walt Disney's Hocus Pocus, three witches killed during the Salem witch trials are brought back to life when a modern-day virgin lights a magical candle. As the film seems to be trying to set a record for the number of times the word "virgin" is used, the question was bound to come up. "Mummy, what's a virgin?" asks my five-year-old daughter. "Someone who's never been kissed," replies Mummy, thinking that's plenty of detail for a child of her age.. ...
..."Virgin" problem aside, Hocus Pocus is a great film and most kids will love it, though very small ones might find it a bit too scary. This film grossed $39,514,713 at the box office, and is one of the most popular Halloween-themed movies of all time and if you've never seen this film ...
...of Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kathy Najimy and a young Thora Birch. This is definately a film to watch with the kids, or if you're a big kid at heart then watch it on your own.
