Heat was a reamake of LA Takedown, released in the mis 1908s (I hadnt actually seen it), but after watching just had to. The cast of Heat is fantastic with De Niro and Pacino commanding, and I say commanding, centre stage. Add add Val Kilmer, Jon Voight and a few other well known actors and you hae the receipe for a quality flick. The whole atmosphere and feeling of the movie is very reminiscent of Miami Vice and Michael Mann has done a good job of combining thrilling story with exciting action and atmospheric sound track. Despite this flic being a couple of years old now, it is fantastic and made exactly out of the material action films should be made out of. There is a lot of plotting going on and the film culminates in THE best shoot-out scene I have ever seen.
