...your room for all the Harry Potter merchandise cluttering it up. What's the next logical step to complete your Harry Potter collection? Buy the film of course!
Released a couple of days ago, my copy of "Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone" by J.K Rowling has already made a firm next in my DVD player. In case you've spent the last few months on Mars, here's a brief summary of the plot.
A young boy, Harry Potter (played by Daniel Radcliffe) discovers ... ...his first year at Hogwarts, Harry makes two firm friends in Ron Weasly (Rupert Grint) and Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) From being a nobody, in a year Harry breaks school records, get into trouble and eventually saves the world from the most feared dark wizard, Voldermort. Needless to say it's all a wee bit idealistic but it is a children's book after all. It has all the necessary ingredients of a child's film- laughs, a hero who has many enemies ...

...books in the much acclaimed Harry Potter series I was a little skeptical about the movie. My first thoughts were that a movie could not convey the magic of the books and also would detract from the books – i.e. the Harry Potter enigma has stimulated millions of children to read, having a movie may detract from this success. However after much though I decided that perhaps a movie wouldn’t be a bad thing as it may stimulate interest in ... ...who have never heard of Harry Potter, here is a brief introduction to the series and some of its characters:
The friends and enemies he makes are: Ron Weasley becomes his best friend. He is a tall skinny, red haired boy who doesn’t particularly excel in school and comes from a very poor family. He has several brothers who attend the school, Percy – the pompous prefect; Fred and George the mischievous twins.
Hermione Granger is the best ...

When I heard that Harry Potter was coming out on DVD and video I decided to get the DVD. Mainly because I like the fact you can get special features and also the fact that it is a better picture and in a smaller form. The price was good for the DVD, well I got it for £14.99 and there was a choice of widescreen edition or just full screen, so I decided to get the full screen because for a film like this I would rather see the screen full.

...film of the winter - Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is now virtually ignored as the TolkienMania drives all before it, suckering in the big boys who love all that sword and sorcery tomfoolery.
I for one still have a very soft spot in my heart for the boy wizard and lest we forget, the first Harry Potter film is also a truly amazing piece of cinema.

Having said that he's no Haley Joel Osment but considering the large amount of responsibility on his shoulders we can be grateful with the casting choice. ...

...we had heard the name Harry Potter, we had looked at the posters, seen the toys and listened to the hype, but had this young wizard transgressed well from book to film?
The answer was a resounding YES.

Harry Potter is a lad with FATE and DESTINY written clearly on him - parents tragically dead, brought up by grotesque and uncaring relatives, he has certain 'talents" so when a very large man called Hagrid(Robbie Coltrane) turns up to take him off to be a wizard, he's keen to go. Guilty of the only real cheese moment in the film. Tom Felton - Draco Malfoy, school pest and obvious bad guy - suitabley greasy and ...
