There's a catch-22 to Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. If you haven't read the book you won't have the faintest clue what's going on, if you have you'll be annoyed at how much is cut out. That said, the makers do a good job of introducing all the major characters quickly and smoothly. ...is a big mistake. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets after the mess of the first movie had a lot to prove. A task that was going to made still more difficult by the fact that it’s an adaptation of the weakest of the series to date. Advantages: A roller coaster ride
Disadvantages: The second half is a little slower and grinds to a halt

...But, it IS a Harry Potter film about the kids, not the adults, so that can be forgiven. As for the trio, Harry, Ron and Hermione, they did extremely well. Dan Radcliffe (Harry) and Emma Watson (Hermione)'s stage-school style has come on a long way since the first film and is much more natural.
