...as hopeless Ice Hockey player Happy Gilmore. He keeps having tryouts to get into a pro team, but fails. He then has a go at Golf - but not golf as everyone else plays it. He runs up to the ball and hits it like an ice hockey 'slap shot' ! Wooooow - 450 yards !! So he can hit it a long way - but his putting is useless. On the green in one - in hole in 8. It's a typical no-hoper takes on the world and does good story - but it is so funny. I love Adam ...

...of the dvd has dropped rapidly from the usual dvd price of £12 - £15. Like all of Adam Sanders films (Waterboy, Big Daddy) the slapstick comedy is in a class of its own and if you have enjoyed any of these films this would be perfect for you. It has a classic ' good guy comes out on top theme' which is always nice. Overall quality film with few cases of strong language and mild violence, hence its 12 rating. The first time i saw this movie was when my uncle loaned me it on tape. That was around 10 years ago and i still enjoy watching it to this very day. An excellent film which Sandler is superbly funny as a rubbish ice hockey player who can hit a puck harder than anyone has ever seen. Realising he is never going to be a professional hockey player, he eventually bets his house movers that he can hit a golf ball further than they can, even though he hates golf and has never played before. ...encourages him to take up golf. Only when he has joined a tournament does he realise that he cant put to save his life. The film produces some very funny performances from some past acting favorites as well as some Sandler regulars. I have watched this movie many times and everytime it is still funny. Adam Sandler is a really great comedian and although this is not one of his best movies I thoroughly enjoyed it.
