Advantages: Fills in the missing gaps of Lectors life Disadvantages: At times difficult to understand due to strong French accents
...two that remain are young Hannibal and his baby sister Mischa.
Hannibal Rising tells the story of how Hannibal changed from a young innocent child, to a bitter and hate filled serial killer. At last the story is finally complete.
I met Hannibal Rising with a degree of wariness; I find the Hannibal movies to be hit and miss. The first movie Manhunter (Later remade as Red Dragon) was excellent, incredibly stylish and at times very disturbing. Silence ... ...as a work of art. Hannibal was acceptable, but lacking in areas and at places overlong. And personally I found Red Dragon a pointless abomination of a movie, a pretty much near exact remake of Manhunter with in some ways a second rate cast. Hannibal Rising took a fair whack of abuse when it was released with more people hating it than not.
I found that the start of Hannibal Rising was quite a laborious chore, while I slightly familiar with the labours ...

Advantages: Answers questions about Hannibal, deep, interesting film Disadvantages: Answers questions about Hannibal, requires a lot of concentration
...Gripped by the Hannibal trilogy, I’m sure many of us have wondered what really happened to Hannibal, what he was really like as a child and how he became the way he is. Hannibal Rising was written and made to finally answer all those questions. Our little Hannibal was once a very happy, ordinary child, living with his rich parents and baby sister in a huge castle out in Lithuania. Then World War 2 hit their doorstep, and the family was forced to ... ...only his little sister left, Hannibal was left cowering inside the small house that was supposed to be their safe house, but not alone for long. Some men showed up taking over their shelter and desperate for food. What happened next would haunt Hannibal for the rest of his life, and leave him “hungry for revenge”. I had been warned that the film was very slow starting and drags on unnecessarily. This I did not find. To the contrary, I found the pace ...

Advantages: erm.....well it is part of the Hanibal Lectar franchise Disadvantages: hard to relate between character in this movie and one played by Mr Hopkins
...startes in WW2- When young Hannibal Lecter sees his parents taken out by Germans and his little sister literally devoured by Russian Soldiers. Fast forward years later craves and wor Hannibal is out for revenge and eventually finds out that it’s a dish better served cold with Fava beans and a nice Chianti. ha
For me though i was left quite disappointed as the movie failed to allow the familiarisation from this prequel to the Hannibal we all know ... ...take away the francise of Hannibal Lectar and you are left with nothin but mutton!
Saying though I was never bored watching the movie, so it is watchable. I just thought it could have been better.
Gaspard Ulliel (Hannibal) didn’t look a lick like Anthony Hopkins but worked for me in his own right. He had an interesting look, was intense, had magnetism and an unusual accent that made him more “compelling” to watch. Rhys Ifans (Vladis) made for a ...

Hannibal rising is the 5th film to be made in the series of films 4 of which are based on novels by Thomas Harris, the first 4 being man hunter, silence of the lambs, hannibal and red dragon. I was always baffled by the way these films were released in rather an odd order but it always seemed to keep me wanting to see the next one released to find out more about this man who was so dangerous yet fasinated me so much, this 4th film puts all of the ... ...it all came from and what had happened that was so traumatic that hannible had turned into the monster he did. I actually if i am honest never realised this film had been made as it didnt recieve any where near the publicity that the other films did and came across it by accident but was very glad i had. telling you pritty much anything to the plot of this story would be giving away a lot and would be spoiling it, what i will say though is that it ...

...along time to see where hannibal came from and his taste for human flesh and i git my answer in this amazingly well put together film starring up and coming gaspard ulliel (how yummy is he!) as a young hannibal lectar. it was hard to look at this in the same line as hannibal, it just isnt the same without hopkins..it has a right of its own. it starts in the country during the war and some very hungry soldiers eating a child, hannibals sister!! it ... ...well, he has a great evil look in his eye and can really manipulate his face with a twink of his lip..unique
