Advantages: Blood and Gore, Humour Disadvantages: No Suspense
...this time the character of Hannibal has become so familiar that he doesn't inspire the same chill as he once did.
The real bad guy of the film is played by an unrecognisable Gary Oldman, who is pursueing Hannibal for revenge. The makeup is brilliant but the character inneffective as a really threatening villain, being that he is crippled and so obsessed with revenge as to make him desperate rather than calculating.
All in all the film lacked suspense; ...

Advantages: Gruesome, eerie, and Anthony Hopkins in all his brilliance! Disadvantages: Has a sort of comical side to it, not as much a thriller as Silence of the Lambs.
...was laughing out loud at Hannibal frequently!I just thought it was a lot less 'scary' than 'The Silence of the Lambs'. That absolutely petrified me, but although i still think that Hannibal is an excellent film, it didn't bring that shear terror into me, that i got from The Silence of the Lambs. You would never have heard Hannibal saying 'I've had a good meal there before', when asked about a place by someone in The Silence of the Lambs- yet those ... ...his brain cut into by Hannibal and he is still alive. It has a funny tinge to it, yet it got a bit far- fetched. The Silence of the Lambs could have actually been quite believeable. Mind you, Anthony Hopkins does not loose his complete eerieness! It is a good film, i do advise it, but if you're expecting the same as the first one, you'll be in for a suprise. ...

...of the Lambs (Dubbed - hannibal 1), i caught onto the storyline and thoroughly enjoyed the film. The producers made it extremely well, most of it was gripping and it made you think about what was actually happening, but they did include some funny lines which comforted the audience in between the gory and gruesome bits.
The actors and actresses played a large part in making the film a success, Dr Hannibal Lecter (forgot the actors name!) was amazing ...

A fanastic film, well directed by Ridley Scott and extremly close to the can't put down must read this book.
The ending was very different, but acceptable, can't give that one away.
Didn't miss Jodie Foster once the film got started. Seemed like the right choice for the part.
The directing was very different to the lambs. But it suited the story.
Sequels are never going too be as good except for Terminator 2 and Aliens.
A must see.

...film, this one centres on Hannibal the Cannibal with Agent Clarice Starling equally centred. You may or may not have heard criticism of the change in actress for Clarice, this I must admit horrified me too. Do not prejudge though, the new actress portrays Clarice extremely well.
The film is set in various locations, all of which are captured well. It follows the book in parts but there are some parts missed. Atmosphere is good, but as usual, not ... ...would expect, include some gruesome scenes, played superbly by Anthony Hopkins. So make sure you are not eating your dinner at the time.
One to watch? Definitely worth buying for the collection. I would also strongly recommend reading the book, it is written so clearly and precisely and the atmosphere generated makes it into my top 5 books that I've read. ...

...made about the fact that Hannibal is the third film / book in a trilogy, but this is a great film on its own. It is common knowledge that Hannibal is the "bad guy". That's all you need to know. Anthony Hopkins plays the part so well you just know he's going to do nasty and evil things.
Without giving too much away, this film scared me. It is not too far fetched, yet it is still gorey, mutilating, bloody, and imaginative - you could sense the suspense ...

Advantages: Great film, will attract alot of viewers and make the producers alot of money Disadvantages: They will end up making another film, which, by most definitions will ruin the previous films in the series
Hannibal Lector has been the feature of three films, though I did not know this until recently, when I was told that the first one, called "manhunt" (or something to that effect) was screened on television the other day. Most films tend to get worse and worse as Hollywood make sequels, prequels and so on, though not this set. Silence of the Lambs was one of the best films which I have seen recently and Manhunt, which I thought was amazing.... Though ... ...are planning to make another Hannibal film. Which I think would ruin the Hannibal Lecter story. I prefered the idea of Hannibal Lecter and Clarerise (or however you spell her name) running off together, disappearing totally, because it is obvious the feelings which Hannibal has for her and the respect they have for each other, which has been shown in Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal (when she went to save him, and he ended up saving her and cutting ...

Two words that really make this film Anthony Hopkins. Have you ever seen a film that he isn't good in!! This man really knows how to act and he has surely become my favourite actor and there aren't many films or programs with him that I have missed.
The story line is amazing, I don't want to say too much in case I ruin this film for you but I must say this is a amazing film that everyone should see, even if you think this isn't your film you will ... ...track will make everyone and anyone jump make sure you have a dustpan and brush ready or a camera to show them how scared they were watching a film.
The main story line is 10 years on from silence of the lambs another must see film, will the lovely agent starling catch him or will the others get to him first or will he dodge them both?? Who knows, makes you want to watch it
This is a group of films that you must watch once in your life!!

Advantages: Superb performance from Anthony Hopkins Disadvantages: Overlong
...superb in his portrayal of Hannibal Lecter, you really feel that you are in the presence of a real evil menace.
Julianne Moore plays FBI Special Agent Clarice Starling and, to my mind does very well indeed, taking over the role from Jodie Foster. The setting in Florence is superb, the soundtrack very good and the movie held my attention although I felt it was a little too long. I also thought that the final dinner scene was ridiculous and spoilt ...

...to the cinema to see Hannibal with high expectations and I wasn't disappointed. The main areas of concern about the film that I knew before going to see it were that Clarice Starling was now being played by Julianne Moore instead of Jodie Foster and that the ending of the film is different to that of the book of the same name by Thomas Harris.
These two concerns turned out to be quashed by the fact that Moore was excellent in the role but obvoiusly ... ...as Hannibal Lector. This role could not be played by anyone else as it is made for him.
The film itself is well acted and quite chilling.
Some bits of the film did actually make me laugh out loud especially the Ray Liotta brain scene near the end of the film - I wont give it away but you'll either be disgusted or laugh your ass off at it (I did the latter), the film is worth seeing for that scene alone.
Definately worth seeing but not quite as ...

...overly keen on the new Hannibal Lecter who emerges through the course of 'Hannibal'. The Hannibal I liked occupied a precarious middle-ground between saint and sinner, erring on the side of the saint when in Clarice's presence and veering sharply back to a darker side when in any lesser soul's company.
I think its is particularly interesting that we only see the darker Hannibal restrospectively; clinical CCTV footage of him attacking nurses, the ...

Advantages: Sir Antony Hopkins role as Hannibal Lecter. Disadvantages: Clrice Starling is a bit too confident on her role!!
Considering that I work in the cinema, I would be able to give GOOD ADVICE on films. My advice to anyone is:
go and see "Silence of the Lambs" before even attempting to set foot inside the cinema door. This is as everyone knows the sequel to it. Yet again "Sir Antony Hopkins" has played a suplime role in making this film a success. His cunning, yet at the same time very witty charactar will have all eyes glued to his evey movement and moment. There ... ...same time you will never know what he is capable of. I don't want to say any more to ruin the film for you all, but everyone that I have spoken to has enjoyed it very much so. I have seen women cringe in their seats and middle aged men laugh their @rses off. I once spoke to an eldery man and he stated that he had not been to the cinema in 8 years, but had to com to see this sequel. The main thing he was not "disappointed on what he saw"!! ...
