...is a love story between Hannibal and Clarice. Now played by Julianne Foster. Foster the FBI agent finds herself the victim of corruption and Lecter comes to her rescue so to speak.
I actually found myself rooting for Lecter in his battle against the baddies.
The climax of the film is an unforgettable dinner party. Liver and onions anyone.
The soundtrack to the film is something else…. Does anyone know if it is out on CD yet.

Advantages: Passes time when you have nothing better to do Disadvantages: Slightly less fun than watching grass grow
...the eagerly awaited return of Hannibal Lector we trundled off the local multi plex. The plot is simple; Hannibal takes over from where Silence Of The Lambs left off. The infamous Lector is now 10 years older and has secured a position in a library in Florence. The heroine Clarrice, played by an actress, whose name is about as memorable as her accent in the film, is approached by one of Lectors victims with fresh evidence about his whereabouts. Wait ... ...guessed it, tracking him down again. This film really did have the makings of a good sequel. Times have moved on, special effects have no doubt improved, but there was no real evidence of this in the film. I’m not going to spoil the film, but it has more twists than a “B” road in the middle of Wales, and more cat and mouse than Tom and Jerry could ever muster up.
But having said that, if the better half is giving you grief and ...

Advantages: Great End Scene Disadvantages: Characters, character interaction and scenes left out
...fact that you don't see Hannibal Lector very much in either Manhunter or Silence Of The Lambs gives the Hannibal character a more creepy edge. As he appears quite alot in this film you see some of veneer start to peel away.
Several murder scenes have been left out including the one in which Hannibal comes back to America.
I don't want to give the ending away but it isn't the same as the ending in the book, and Krendlers end scene with Hannibal ...

Advantages: Great Action, Unpredictiblity Disadvantages: No Caracter Development, Seems Rushed
The release of the book, and the knowledge that possibly the greatest sequel to a film in cinema history was to be produced was of great intereset to me.
Having read the book, multiple times in preparation for the film, I went with great expectations of what I was about to view...
I was supprised at what I actually saw, a good film, yes I'll give it that. A serious contender to the philosophical, and intellectually challenging predocessor? I'm ... ...storyline that worked, it became obvious very quickly that Director Ridley Scott was looking for action, blood and guts...
This was plentiful, Character development was blatantly not going to appear today.
I could sit here and point by point go through the differences from the book, the lack of contrast from Silence of the Lambs, but I won't.
Don't get me wrong, the film in its own extent was fine, but it did nothing to relieve my disappointment ...

Advantages: Well Directer - Powerhouse performances Disadvantages: The book was a bit naff - this slighlty improves on the book
Yep.
OK, OK so I'll give you a bit more to go on here.
The story - well read the book, as far as the veiwer needs to know, Hannable is back, and he wants lunch.
Performance:
Hanable - Well - better than exspectations
Clarise (spelling?) - Much better than Jodi - trust me at lest she does not sound like she's passing water every time she puts the southern accent on...
Ray Liota gives his only good performance since Goodfellas - he is the creap ... ...Gary Oldman give a bad performance, well, no then, shut up - he is great - if not a bit unrecognisable in the makeup.
I'm not going to give any plot spoilers - please just take my word for it that you will be better off knowing only the following.
The is not a Thriller - like Silence of the Lambs - this is a modern Horror that is akin to a slasher movie or one of the Italian directors Argento's style pieces.
Scott directs the scene with a loving ...

...paves the way for another Hannibal movie. It has a fairly good storyline and the scenes with the man-eating pigs are cool. Also it would have been better with Jodie Foster and not a lookalike. I would recommend this movie but don't expect as much as Silence of the Lambs. ...

...infamous character, the man-eating Dr Hannibal Lecter.
Its 10 years since he first crossed paths with FBI agent Clarice Starling (Julianne Moore) and, having escaped the asylum, is now on the bureau’s most wanted website. Happily living in Florence, Italy, Lecter decides to resurface with his appetite bigger than ever.
Starling’s career hangs in the balance following a botched FBI operation and it seems the only way to keep her job is to track ...

...goriness - the scene where Hannibal performs an open lobotomy on one of his victims and fries some of his brains on a pan and eats them, is definitely ground-breaking, if not nauseating! Gary Oldman's make up, which took 5 hours to apply, is also a visual wonder.
I'd give this a 7 out of 10, and would recommend it to all but the extremely squeamish. ...

Advantages: Gets you out of the house Disadvantages: Had high anticipation of the film only to be disappointed
My partner and l had been looking forward to the preview since Saturday when we got our tickets. I thoroughly enjoyed Silence of the Lambs and therefore thought we were in for a treat. NO.
I would not go as far to say that this was a bad film, but there was no real story line, no suspense, on pscyhological drama and no Jodie Foster. I felt Julianne Moore did a good job as Starling but she had a hard act to follow and perhaps did not measure up to ... ...was the usual Dr Lecter, but he was working with a poor storyline and therefore l felt that he was not up to his usual standards.
There were a few gory scenes, that made me turn away from the screen, and l watched the film quite intently, but the film was mundane and did not make me think.
What l did enjoy was the opera music that served as back ground music - it was brilliant.
Go see the film, but please do not expect the quality of Silence of ...

Advantages: Well produced; entertaining Disadvantages: Tame, compared with the Lord's Book
...Good Book. Throughout the film, Hannibal makes thinly veiled references to the Bible with neither shame nor hesitation. As Hannibal Lecter tastes the fragrant cranial stew, every True Christian in the audience was, no doubt, just like me, reciting the Lord's own words:
“Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.”
... ...Hannibal feeds a chunk of Gary Oldman's face to a dog may be upsetting, but it was quite clearly a reference to 2 Kings 15:5 where our Lord had dogs devour sinners.
Yes, there was blood, but it was rather suppressed. The best scene in Psalms 58 (where the Lord, in a temper, smashes in people's teeth and cuts them up into little pieces so that the righteous may rejoice and wash their feet in the blood) would, perhaps be a little too violent to show ...

Advantages: great filming & acting Disadvantages: lack of storyline
I've only just seen Hannibal, so wasn't expecting as much as perhaps others, having heard everyone say how bad it was. However, boy was I really surprised - I loved it! OK, so it wasn't a masterpiece, but it definately made it to my top 10 of the year so far....
The main problem with the film is the story-line...or lack of it. I guess we should have worked out really that not much more could happen than did, so shouldn't have expected anything more. ... ...really could have been made half the length, and wouldn't have lost anything. In fact, perhaps it would make it better, as it would make us focus on what really makes this film great. The film work, the sound track, the acting and the directing. OK, OK, so a story-line in a film is fairly important, but the lack of this is, in my opinion, more than made up for by the FANTASTIC filming and directing. It was horrific, but it was also artistic. It was ...

Advantages: good photography Disadvantages: boring,non-existent script
I was so disappointed when i watched "Hannibal",earlier this year. The "Silence of the lambs"is one of the best thrilers ever.I remember watching it in the movie theatre in 1990 and been so excited afterwards. The complete opposite happened when i watched the sequel. It was BORING!The big problem was of course the script.Idiotic, didn't add anything that we hadn't seen in the original.Anthony Hopkins looks bored, and his performance doesn't compare with ... ...than Julian Moore and her decision not to reprise her part, was a wise one. Don't bother watching it. ...
