The production values of the film and how different they were from the cheap and nasty Friday 13th movies instantly surprised me. Halloween 4 gives us a worthy follow up to Halloween. Michael Myers is back in Haddonfield after escaping from a secure hospital, naturally by killing lots of people in various bloody ways, and is now looking for his 8 year old niece, Jamie, played by Danielle Harris. ...some good set-pieces, although like Halloween 2 a little too much graphic gore is shown - I'm not against graphic gore, I just feel the more subtle approach used in Halloween 1 is far more effective. Halloween 4 at least makes an attempt to create suspense and mood as opposed to just being another gore fest.
