Advantages: Great story and acting, catchy songs with good vocals, family film Disadvantages: None from me
Well my film education continues. I think hubby nearly passed out in the shop when I said I had never seen this film and knew nothing about it apart from it being a West end Show! As a result he treated me to it and I have to say considering I did not know what to expect from it I did actually find it very good. The film is set in the 1950’s with Nathan Detroit being a gambling man who is desperately trying to find a venue to host his massive Craps ... ...Gambler comes to town by the name of Sky Masterson who Nathan thinks will be able to help him with his venue problem. Nathan sets Sky up for a $1000 bet that he cannot convince Missionary worker Sarah Brown to go away with him.
Nathan thinks he has won the money as Sky has no chance of getting her too agree so he will be able to pay for the venue for his game but things take a turn for the worse for Nathan when his love suffering fiancé finds out ...

Advantages: Has you singing along merrily Disadvantages: Extras a let down
...list of classic films. Guys and Dolls is a 1952 film from Metro-Goldwyn-Sayer. It is rated U, and this is a pretty fair rating as although there's gambling a bit of kissing there's not really anything that could possibly shock or offend. The film is full of big names, most notably: - Frank Sinatra (appropriately playing a gangster) - Marlon Brando - Vivian Blaine - Jean Simmons The film opens with the song Guys and Dolls with a very impressive yet ... ...all musicals, is the soundtrack. Guys and Dolls has a nice range of songs, some very upbeat, some amusing (I especially love the song Adelaide sings about her psychosomatic cold), and some quite touching. Many of these songs are memorable. Loads of people know a little of 'Sit Down, you're rocking the boat', even if they're not sure which film it's from. Likewise, 'Lady Luck'.
