...F1, I wasn't sure about Grand Prix until I saw it.
This has to be the BEST racing movie EVER!
This film is packed with racing from start to finish - Monte Carlo (looked a bit different then!), Spa, Brands Hatch, Monza (including racing on the old banked circuit!) - it was made in conjunction with the 1966 F1 season, and includes genuine racing footage from races that year, as well as appearances by drivers such as Graham Hill & Jochen Rindt.
How ... ...the more astounding how fantastic Grand Prix the movie is - at several points where there is in-car footage you find yourself leaning with the car in to corners - something that I can't say I've done before watching a DVD on the small screen. The accompanying documentary makes it all the more apparent what work had to go in to create the real effects - involving cameras mounted in complex ways to real racing cars being driven by real racing drivers ...
