Advantages: Fun and full of nice cars Disadvantages: Story is a bit slow moving
I read all of the hype which came along with this film, and decided I needed to see it. A mixed cast of well known actors (Nicolas Cage), and relative unknowns including Vinny Jones and the man who played Phoebes brother from Friends. The film is by no means a classic, but it is full of action once the story line gets moving. I went to see it twice, the story was poor but again when the car chases begin it is very fun.
This film will be adored by ...

...is how I would describe Gone in Sixty Seconds.Nick Cage plays the car thief brought back from retirement to steal fifty cars within a single night. As so often happens in Hollywood films we have the evil baddie played by someone with an English accent.Your average teenage delinquent would probably see this and think,"stealing cars-what a great idea."Poor old Vinnie Jones gets one line to deliver in the whole film, although he does deliver it well, ...

I liked the movie a lot, and I would recommend it to my friends, it just had all the best parts of the movie in the last third of the movie. Also Angelina Jolie has granted a good asset in the movie bringing more people to come and see it, but it was a major disappointment when she played such a small role, and you rarely saw her at all. Overall the film was full of high speed action and you can really get into the roll of the film. However the main ...

This is one of the best films that I have seen in a long time. Fun and thrilling with some seriously sexy cars. Imagine my suprise when I weny to see a film that had a story-line, was filmed well & kept me entertained all the way through. A rare thing for films these days. Nick Cage is supported by some good actors, and of course the baddy is inevitably an English bloke, (the mad one out of Shallow Grave)
My advice is to simply go and see it, but ...

...minutes before the end of Gone in 60 Seconds, Nicolas Cage finally puts the pedal to the metal and leads the cops on a car chase. It's about time. I have no idea what this movie was supposed to be about, but I know what I want when I see a movie called Gone in 60 Seconds, and what I want is a stripped-gears tire-burning fender-bashing freaking car chase, with vehicles flying over impossible obstacles and sidewalk vendors scattered like bowling pins. ... ...who's seen the light and gone clean. When he puts on a haughty accent and bamboozles a salesman in a Ferrari showroom, it has absolutely no connection to the character in the script; it's just Nicolas Cage, slipping on his Wild at Heart snakeskin jacket and letting us groove on his craziness. Having gone in that direction, however, the movie can't recover when it tries to explain his taste for auto theft (a ludicrous nocturnal monologue in which ...

I'm a bit of a car nut and I like Nicholas Cage. However when I saw the trailer I was slightly wary of this film, though being the bumbling idiot that I am, I went to see it anyway. The film certainly does have some good points: the cars sound and look nice, Jolie looks gorgeous. However the acting and the plot were atrocious. Cage is a great actor but his script was so bad even he couldn't make anything of it, it is telling that the actor with the ... ...In the first half of the film, nothing happens. This is not so that the characters can be built and given depth, it's just empty. They plan how they're going to steal the cars, the thieves meet each other and well, and nothing. This may be because the director spent so much time concentrating on his stylish lighting and camera work, which might have added something to the chase scenes but were otherwise just annoying. The second half was much better ...

I saw this film at Star City in Birmingham last night and I LOVED it. I thought it was absolutely brilliant. Loads of nice cars to look at, cept you don't see some of the more expensive ones in action (insurance purposes probably!).
The film starts off with a nice car theft (dont try it at home kids) and good chase. Then you get loads of plot yaka yaka story story, then loads of car "boosts" near the end of the film.
The soundtrack is a strange ...

Vrooming Vinnie Jones, the Hard Man of football, is fast making his presence felt on the big screen utilising the skills he honed on the pitch. In this film he plays a quiet mortuary worker who was previously employed in Grand Theft Auto with his old buddy, Randall 'Memphis' Raines (Nicholas Cage).

This is a fast paced action film which will appeal to all you petrol heads out there as the cars to be boosted include some hot rods and Italian Stallions! Cage does most of his own driving stunts in this film and has done extremely well.
You see little of Angelina "Lara Croft" Jolie in this film but that doesn't detract from her presence.
The Soundtrack is top-notch and I for one will go out buy it.

Gone In 60 Seconds. I dont know about you but before i knew what the film had entailed the title made something go 'Click' in my head. Dont ask me what though. I went to see this at the preview, and let me tell you the cinema was packed out and quite rightfully so. The story is that Memphis Raines (Cage) is a now retired car thief. Advantages: Angelina Jolie, some very nice cars and Vinny Jones Disadvantages: in a nutshell it's fast moving rubbish
This is a fast moving action film with a fairly simple plot. Basically Nick Cage has to save his little brother from being killed by stealing 50 cars in three days. Nick Cage who plays a reformed car thief takes on the task and gets together all of his old crew who used to help him steal cars. This of course includes the lovely Angelina Jolie. The film is easy to watch and entertaining but gains no real credit for its content. If you want a film ... ...turns (if you excuse the pun) then stay well clear of this one. - 50 gorgeous sports cars - A blonde Angelina Jolie.
Sounds like a perfect film.
And if that isn't enough for you people, well here's a proper review.
In a remake on the 1974 film of the same name, Nicholas Cage stars as 'Memphis' an ex-car thief turned nice who has, in order to save his brother's life, to return to car boosting and in the space of 3 days steal 50 sports cars. Cage then sets about recruiting his old gang consisting of the completely silent Vinnie Jones, the compeletly wrinked Robert duVal and the completely gorgeous Angelina Jolie. Admittedly, it's a weak plot but with great cars, lots of action, a ...
