Ghost is one of the most moving films I have ever watched, it makes me cry every time I watch it. A love story about life and death, about the importance of saying goodbye to your love ones and making each day count by telling them how you feel before it’s too late. Story:
Molly Jenson (Demi Moore) and Sam Wheat (Patrick Swayze) are a young couple who are very much in love, having just bought an apartment together they are ... ...and entertaining. He meets another ghost on the tube and together they start moving objects around. The acting in the movie id excellent, it must have been very hard as they need to do lot of reacting to things as apposed to interacting, because Sam is a Ghost he cannot be seen and he is unable to physically touch anyone. Characters: Molly Jenson is played by the very talented Demi Moore; Molly is an artiste/sculpture, she is desperately in love ...

Advantages: Good story, Disadvantages: A little bit dated in places
...to think that the film Ghost starring Patrick Swayze was made 17 years ago but when I sat down and watched it on the TV the other night this became apparent for two different reasons. Firstly there is no denying that in places this film now seems to be a little bit dated, whilst secondly I was amazed how little of the film I actually recalled from having originally first seen it all those years ago.
Ghost is primarily a love story but this is a ... ...his body and become a ghost looking at his distraught girlfriend but powerless to comfort or help or to even let her know that he is OK. From this point onwards we see Sam all around the house, with Molly at work and watching her wherever she goes but she is unaware of his presence. It soon however becomes apparent to Sam that his death was no unlucky act, but instead that it was pre-planned and furthermore it seems that their best friend, Carl Bruner ...

Advantages: It is suitable for all ages and both sexes Disadvantages: Just too neat at times
2003 sees this film become a teenager, in terms of age I must add, as it was made in 1990, and was the runaway hit of that year. It looks at the subject of death, and is there life on the 'other side', but I must add that it is approached from an emotional level rather than having any scientific fact to back it up, which some viewers may find a little hard to swallow, and admittedly, I was one of those people who thought that this film wsa only famous ... ...and Demi Moore make a suggestively shaped vase on a potters wheel with 'Unchained Melody' playing in the background.
At the start of the film, we are introduced to Sam Wheat (Patrick Swayze) and Molly Jensen (Demi Moore). They are a couple 'on their way up' with good jobs and a new apartment. They are successful in their chosen fields, have a wide circle of good friends, and they are madly in love with each other, and have finally decided to commit ...

Ghost was made in 1990 and this year it would actually be old enough to watch itself at the cinema and when made was the successful film of the year winning five Academy Award nominations, but only 1 winner on the night with Best Supporting Actress for Whoopi Goldberg. Ghost has always been one of my favourite films, it’s one of those films that is something completely different to what you first thought it would be yet it still manages to exceed all prior expectations which is the reason that despite being nearly 20 years old it’s still watched today and is considered to be a modern classic. If you ask people what’s their favourite Patrick Swayze movie you’re likely to hear Dirty Dancing ...

...of...Sam is actually now a ghost who noone can see or hear, until he comes across Oda, played by Whoopi Goldberg. He then sets out to bring his killers to justice. I mentioned in my review for A few Good Men that I just cant get to like Demi Moore, and I find her performace in this the same, quite wooden and while she is emotional at times, I am not and its strange, I just cannot connect with her and I dont know why. It just seems forced and like ... ...think, learning to be a ghost and the character develops well within this theme. He manages to be emotional, and quite hard-ass by the end of the movie, and he really drew me into the movie, by seeming genuine and by doing what every man would do...getting revenge! While Swayze is good, Whoopi Goldberg is absolutely amazing, she adds a dimension into the movie that would not be there if anyone else had been cast into this role, the humour is there, ...

As the television producers insist on putting utter tripe on the T.V these days, I decided to have a mooch around in my DVD collection, I came across “Ghost”, I hadn’t seen this film in ages and I had forgotten what the story was about, so I decided I would watch this instead of watching another soap!

Advantages: Emotional, entertaining, with fine performances Disadvantages: Too many conflicting emotions, the film doesn't, as a whole, gel well
Jerry Zucker's GHOST was released in 1990 and was an instant success, with people leaving theatres wiping away tears and rejoicing over the grief of it all; but is it actually a good film?
In New York a sweet loving young couple, Sam and Molly, are walking home from the theatre one dark evening when they are held up at gunpoint. Sam gets shot, the mugger runs away and Molly is left cradling her dead love in her arms. Sam isn't gone, however, he ... ...it all! For the record, GHOST isn't my only weepie, being something of a weeper, and it certainly isn't one of the best, but it's a good little weeper at that. I should, then, be entirely forgiven for my occasional emotional outburst, although very rarely I am. Weepers rarely receive sympathy; indeed, it is a cross we have to bear, but bear it I always do for GHOST, a lovely amalgamation of every popular movie genre fitted loosely together to form ...

Film - Ghost
Stars - Demi Moore, Patrick Swayze, Whoopi Goldberg
Plot - Molly and Sam are madly in love. One night while walking home Sam is shot by a man attempting to steal his wallet and dies. But this isnt the end of Sam, as he becomes trapped somewhere between life and death. Noone can hear or feel him, except for psychic phoney Oda Mae Brown who discovers she does in fact have the supernatural gift. With her reluctantly helping him, Sam realises ... ...and must act quickly in order to save Molly from danger.
Whats it like? - This is a film that people have gone on about to me for years and so I was eager to see it at last. Sadly it didn't perform for me. I was surprised to see this was made in 1990 as it has a much earlier 80's feel about it and is very dated. Its also very obvious throughout and couldn't get emotional about any of the characters since they all felt more wooden than my chair. ...
