Advantages: Funny, Believable, Just Great! Disadvantages: Nothing
I only recently started watching Gavin and stacey after my mum and younger brother kept telling I had to watch it because it was really funny and just a simply brilliant British comedy series. It is simply a story of how a nice boy from Essex meets a nice girl from Wales. Gavin and Stacey speak every day on the phone for 6 months, the first episode is their first meeting. They each bring along a mate (Nessa and Smithy) to this first meeting and the ... ...So who is everyone?
Gavin is a nice, sweet lad who likes spending time in the pub trying beers from around the world with his best mate Smithy. He works in computers and lives in Essex with his Mum and Dad. The lovable thing about Gavin is he is just an ordinary lad... which really works, he isn't over romantic, hard or brilliant - he is just Gavin! Although not a likely romantic character, he pulled out all the stops for his love, Stacey.
Stacey ...

Advantages: Great script and Rob Brydon Disadvantages: none
Gavin and Stacey is a comedy sitcom broadcast on BBC 3. It was written by James Corden and Ruth Jones, who also star in the show.
It is about a man from Essex, Gavin (Mathew Horne) and a woman from Barry, Stacey (Joanna Page), who have a long distance relationship on the phone, who decide to finally meet in person. They are joined by their respective best friends, Smithy (James Corden) and Nessa (Ruth Jones).
The additional cast members are Gavin's ... ...The first series of Gavin and Stace follows the relationship between Gavin and Stacey, as well as the love-hate relationship between Smithy and Nessa.
This show is really funny and entertaining, as it explores the angst of a long distance relationship and how much families play a role, directly and indirectly. The humour is also brilliant, as we see the oddities of Uncle Bryn and the extreme humour of Smithy. ...

I ended up and sitting and watching the whole series in one evening, I just couldn't turn it off! It is so so so funny, and the fits of giggles Ruth Jones' character has has me in in unreal, she is so funny! The story line is so romantic as well, in a comedic kind of way. This award winning comedy is brought to you by the stunning writing team, James Corden and Ruth Jones. Their combined talent has brought us a wonderful new comedy series.
Jointly set in Barry, south Wales and Essex, the title characters are probably the least interesting in the programme. Nessa and Smithy as the best friends, played by Jones and Corden are hilarious characters, and you can already hear people spurting Nessa quotes.
Rob Bryden, ... ...to have been on TV recently, and by far the funniest thing he's ever done. Alison Stead puts in a hilarious performance as Gavin's mother, Pamela.
Look out for Dave and Doris, brilliant smaller parts.
The beauty of this series is its charm and unoffensive humour. Real characters you can relate to and it has now become fairly cheap to buy online, so buy it! ...
