Advantages: Not a bad film Disadvantages: Back to the future 4?
FREQUENCY Well as you would expect from any decent DVD release this DVD is crammed with features. Well mebbies not crammed but there is easily enough to keep you happy for an extra hour or so. Well what features do we actually have then? Well the DVD advertises that there is over 40 mins of extras. These 40 minutes incude deleted scenes of which there are about 5. These are actually rather well shot but you can see why they were removed from the ... ...the film to more of a crawl (which is bad m'kay). There is a behind the scenes documentary which, to be honest, is more of a feaure of the pseudo science behind how John can talk to his dad in the past. It talks for a while about the aurorae borialis and how it comes about. This is actually quite nice to see as it takes an intergral part in the film. To be honest after this the documentary goes from talking about science to some rubbish it just makes ...

I didn't go to the cinema planning to see this film, it was a second choice when the first film was sold out, so I knew nothing about it having not read any write ups.
The film started off well and grabbed my attention, then as the film progressed the storyline got better and better and yopu find yourself sitting there telling the characters what to do.
There is even a few parts in the film where you might find a hanky comes in handy, it's definitly ...

Advantages: Old-fashioned father-son relationship story, thrilling race to save the past Disadvantages: Slightly far-fetched
If nothing else is said of "Frequency", it will certainly be remembered for its original twist on an old plotline. It tells the tale of a man who finds he is able to contact his father from the past through an old ham radio. What sounds like a rather far-fetched plot is actually pulled off surprisingly well. As the son alters the past in a fashion reminiscent of "Back to the Future", the film twists and turns between light sci-fi and gentle excitement. ...

Advantages: Well worth seeing Disadvantages: Confusing at times
Dr Who had a tardis. Michael J Fox used a DeLorean. But the prize for most ingenious method of time travel surely goes to Gregory Hoblit's 'Frequency', in which a father and son - separated by three decades - communicate with each other via a ham radio set. For New York cop John Sullivan (Jim Caviezel), life has never been the same since his beloved fireman father (Dennis Quaid) perished in a factory blaze when John was just six-years-old.
One night, ... ...hears a familiar voice echoing over the airwaves. Thanks to a bizarre time warp, he's tuned into a broadcast made by his father, Frank Sullivan, exactly 30 years earlier.
The two men make up for lost time, but John can also tell Frank how to dodge death in that fatal conflagration and bring his pop back from the grave.
But something goes wrong after Sullivan walks away from the fire unsinged. Unwittingly he saves the life of a serial killer, who ...

Advantages: unusual plot, many twists Disadvantages: hard to follow in places, can be confusing
I went to see Frequency having seen the trailer, therefore just about grasping that a radio would allow a man to talk to his father in the past, before his tragic death on duty as a fireman. I have to say that part alone stretched the imagination rather a lot. You definately have to try to pay great attention to everything that is happening in the film, because if you do not, you won't have a clue what's happening! It's definitely not one of those ...

Advantages: Well written Disadvantages: Unbelievable
Frequency is a type of movie that has as much suspense and action as it does drama, which isn't easy to do. Many films have tried and lose the plot in the process, but, fortunately, Frequency doesn't. Some say the movie is hard to follow, well it shouldn't be if you pay attention. Dennis Quaid plays the father who died 30 years ago, which his son played by Jim Caviezel in the present ends up talking to him, via radio, in the past and they do things ... ...quite a complicated plot, but the movie gives you time to catch up if you need it. The action is well done and the drama is performed superbly by Quaid and Caviezel. I highly recommend this movie too all, it probably will be in my top ten of the year. ...

Here is a movie that uses the notion of time travel to set up a situation where a man in 1999 is able to talk to his father in 1969, even though his father died when the man was 6. The movie harnesses this notion to a lot of nonsense, including a double showdown with a killer, but the central idea is strong and carries us along. There must be something universal about our desire to defeat time, which in the end defeats us.
The father in 1969 is ... ...he dies heroically while trying to save a life in a warehouse fire. The son in 1999 is named John Sullivan (Jim Caviezel), and he has broken with three generations of family tradition to become a policeman instead of a fireman. One night he's rummaging under the stairs of the family house where he still lives and finds a trunk containing his dad's old ham radio. The plot provides some nonsense about sunspots and the Northern Lights, but never mind: ...

Advantages: None Disadvantages: Everything about it, what a terrible film!
...for a little while. Frequency was a waste of money, time and thought. Briefly, the film is about a boys father who uses a radio to talk to people, the father is killed in a fire. The boy grows up and becomes quite a loner, as a result of such a huge loss in his life. He comes across the radio years later and starts to use it. Unbelieveably he reaches his father in the past, before he was killed and lets him know what went wrong. The story continues ... ...until the end, when everyone lives ever after. Don't take me the wrong way it isn't a feel good film, it is a crap film! I normally say to people go and see for yourself and make up your own mind, but please don't both with this movie. Goodness knows why Mr Quaid took this role on, it isn't going to do anything for his career! ...

ok, this is the kind of film that you can't move out of you seat because the plot is too coplicated to understand if you get up to go to the toilet, nut for those who don'thave enough brain power even if they watch the whole film with out blinking they still wouldn't understand it. The film was great up until the last 10 mins altough due to the slowed diwn running it seemed like 5hrs, the ending was as if they had mad it upit 2 second flat, all together ...

Advantages: Great fun, action, suspense, twists Disadvantages: Slow to begin with, cheesy at the end
I really enjoyed this film. It a sci-fi thriller about a cop who finds that he can communicate with his dead Father (living in 1969) by using an old ham radio. The cop manages to save his Dad's life, by telling him what's about to happen. In doing so, they have changed the future, and not just for the better. The two of them spend the rest of the movie trying to sort out the chaos they have caused. The film takes a while to get started, it's slow ...

I wasn't quite sure about whether to actually watch this film or not, but as soon as I was in the Cinema, I was thankful that I did take time to see it.
It is the best film that I have ever seen, & believe me...I have seen a lot of films!!! I would encourage anyone and everyone to see this film. I found that it kept me on the edge of my seat all the way through, I never knew what was around the corner.

It might make you think that, how might this become true, as you tune your radio tonight, don't be surprised hearing a radio show back in the 80s. But our imagination just wonders off, and thats how those films are made out of.

It's been a long, long wait, but I wasn't disappointed. Resounding claps nearly drowned out Garth.
