Frequency (DVD)

I came across Frequency, the film from 2000, quite by chance one Saturday night on Sky Premier. I had heard literally nothing about it - no hype, no reviews, no slatings, no adverts - and so wasn't sure what to expect. The first twenty minutes or so were pretty dull, and it looked like pretty much standard, all American hokum about families going bad when something wondrous happens to change their lives - Ho hum, that seen it all before world weariness ...
...and I started thinking about looking at what was on the other side. HOWEVER, PLEASE STICK WITH IT because you will be extremely glad you did - I know I was. What starts off as being very slow and dull and boring starts to pick up wonderfully about a third of the way through and you're left with a pretty unique and thrilling detective story which will keep you on the edge of your seats right to the end. Frequency does not do much to describe the type of movie this is and may put people off seeing the movie. I got recommended this film a while back and got lent the DVD version so I thought I'd watch it one night when I had nothing else to do. I got told not to expect that much, but a pretty good film. I personally thought that was pretty naff advice, I really liked this action packed flik and would recommend this film to anyone thats heard of it. The movie combines an element of the supernatural, with the excitement of a crime thriller, and also sows the seed of a thought-provoking concept. This is one of the best movies I've seen in the last year. A friend borrowed me a DVD with this movie, but I was never expected to have such a great movie experience. Honestly, I've never heard of this movie, but now it becomes one of my favourites. The idea of the screenplay is absolutely briliant. It's like a 10 times better "Back to the future". Well, this film was a little intersting. An original story line, but less spectacular on the screen. This film is more thought than action, which was probably only in the fire fighting scenes.
