...the man with no name, for a fee of $50,000, a Ferrari and a share of the film's takings. Gian Maria Volonte who had almost stolen the show in 'Fistful' playing the evil gunslinger Ramon Rojo was back to play a pot smoking villain, Indio.
The original working title for the film was 'Two Magnificent Strangers' and Leone initially wanted Lee Marvin to play Col Mortimer, the second 'stranger' but Marvin was unavailable due to his commitment to filming ...

Advantages: Everything
Disadvantages: None
...also going after Indio, but for his own very different reasons. At first Eastwood and Van Cleef are at loggerheads, (two men going after the same prey can cause problems.) But after a while they come to a compromise and team up, and together they go after the outlaws, plenty of cool action follows, but can the two men get through it without killing each other?
Again directed by Leone this movie really hits the spot. Eastwood as usual is at his ...

Good plot, beautiful scenery, good action and music
Review of For A Few Dollars More (DVD) by
Outspoken1
Advantages: Absorbing film with dramatic action sequences
Disadvantages: Not quite as good when you've seen it a few times
...mind and fuelling Mortimer's thirst for revenge.
Two watches that play identical tunes play a big part in the film and the atmosphere created when Indio participates in his first Quick draw is momentous! The watch starts playing and as if by magic an orchestra fades in complete with crurch organ and choir (some watch, good material for a spoof).
All in all a very enjoyable film that I have watched over and over. ...

The Gold Pocket Watch
Review of For A Few Dollars More (DVD) by

Advantages: Great film
Disadvantages: bad dubbing
I think this has got to be the best Western film ever made.
Why do I think this? Well, it has all the neccessary components of a classic Spagetti Western.
If has plenty of action.....
It has loads of bad Dubbing.....
It has a nasty Villain.....
It has Lee Van Cleef and Clint Eastwood in it.....
The story revolves around the Gangster Indio who a rather large price on his head.
Only problem is, no one is man enough to take him on.
That ...

My favourite of the Dollars Trilogy
Review of For A Few Dollars More (DVD) by
hahnchen
Advantages: Great Soundtrack, Story and Imagery
Disadvantages: none
Clint Eastwood returns as the Man with No Name, a bounty hunter seeking the prized bounty of famed bandit El Indio.
Lee Van Cleef is Colonel Douglas Mortimer, another bounty hunter after the same bandit.
This film is full of great moments, enhanced by the wonderul soundtrack by Ennio Morricone. It's a great story focused on the 3 central characters, all of which play their role to a tee. It's great to see the differences between these main characters. ...

Classic second outing
Review of For A Few Dollars More (DVD) by
glwgardner
Advantages: Superb Film
Disadvantages: Not enough extras....again
...He was the perfect actor for the role of Indio. The touching scene of psychopathic Indio studying the music box is an image that sticks in the mind. Lee Van Cleef's character 'Mortimer' also brings a human perspective to this western as we find out that his bounty hunter is not just after money. The typical gunfight scenes are there with the tense finale bringing the film to a close. Eastwood is back on form as 'The Man With No Name' and he contrasts ...

Advantages: great movie, clint eastwood
Disadvantages: 15 certificate
Plenty of people I know who have watched the film disagree with me that it is one of the best western films made.I totally disagree this film sequels a fist full of dollars,of which is also one of the best around of its time.
The sequel has been branded unneccesary and downgrades the 1st film but if the film had not been produced the first would not of had the same affect as it did.
Clint Eastwood is at his peak in both the films and so is the other ...
