Released in 2003, this animated offering from Disney Pixar is a story of adventure and the importance of home and family....for fish!! After being brought up by his widowed father, the main charcter..a clownfish called Nemo, gets captured whilst swimming out too far from his home in the coral reef and gets separated from his father and put into a dentists' surgery fish tank. Nemo's worried father, Marlin then departs on a journey through the ocean ...

Together they encounter a wall of dangerous jellyfish, ride the current with the chilled out surfer dude turtles and attend a get together with three vegetarian sharks. ...audience in expanding their horizons. Finding Nemo is visually stunning and you can have nothing but respect for the people who created it. I was more or less skeptic about watching it, because it was so overhyped ! Two days before it got released in my country, the TV and press loudly announced that the DVD broke all records in the USA during its first release-day. That's usually a sign of being typically mainstream and fake...but Finding Nemo ...
...!!! Every side character in Finding Nemo (and there are a LOT of them) is exceptional and worth a mention. And the voices are cast perfectly as well...like the voice of Willem Dafoe for Gill, for example...a perfect choice. The character of Dory ( speaks through the voice of Ellen DeGeneres ) steals the show. She's an adorable blue fish who suffers from amnesia. ...really looking forward to seeing Finding Nemo. It started off showing the beauty of the sea then rapidly changed the mood with the death of Nemo's mother and siblings. This leaves Marlin with his son Nemo who has a deformed fin: this only adds to the protectiveness Marlin feels towards his only remaining family. The usual happens in these cases where parent pushes child too far and child rebels - in Nemo's case this results in him being captured ...

I'm 17 and i absolutly love this film. Theres just so many great parts. Me and my Friends spent hours after the film was over just mimicking phrases. Favourite Character was Bruce and the turtle (name escapes me yet again) ofcourse Dory. Favourite part of the film well at the non fish eating meeting with the sharks and marlin and dory and the sea gulls not sure if they say mate or mike or could be something else. This cute animation is definately one for the whole family Amazing graphics are only 1 of its many advantages, the characters are highly addictive and unique. It's a rollercoaster of emotions, the sadness of Nemos mother being eaten and Nemo losing his Dad. But also, Nemo making new friends and being reunited with his Dad. Will make you laugh and cry :) I would recommend this film to people of all ages, this isn't just another boring animation with afew childish jokes. There are many classic moments in it, which are remembered for years after. This film was released in 2003, and people are still talking about it. Definately a good sign ...
